School Story:
Many of my memories of high school are tied to football and weightlifting. Anyone for some refreshing updowns? Two-a-day practices in 100 degree heat with one water break? Anyone....?
Some memories are from classes. I am distantly related to Beth Hetzler, so she did me the favor of making me her focus. Hooray for me.
I remember cutting class with my biology teacher (shall remain unnamed) to go duck hunting.
I remember in Mr. Youngbauer's class every student carried a water pistol. We would soak him everytime his back was turned.
I remember the draconian regime of Mrs. Minnick in the library.
I remember cruising the "ones" and playing pool at the bowling alley.
I remember going almost 4 years without a single detention, until I spoke 2 words of english in german class on the last day. Joe Preston was not an easy going teacher.
I remember that it wasn't easy being a "farm kid". My nearest school mate was over 3 miles away. Other than football and the torture chamber my extra time was spent working on the farm.
