It's kind of like when Coke came out with the "New and Improved Coke" the market rejected it and Coke returned to the original and called it "Classic Coke"

"Classic Forum"

Okay, Under "Fun Stuff" I'll get everyone started on the names and artists of the 30 Greatest Guitar Riffs, acutally 29, ever recorded. The majority of the songs are the songs WE grew up with, so they shouldn't be too hard to figure out. There may be four or five that the heavy metal bangers will have to deliver. So, name those tunes and artists.

The first person to list them all will win a week long, all expense trip to Cozumel. NOT! But you will be praised with a lot of "Atta Boy or Atta Girl" depending on the gender.

The first song is "Smooth" by Santana featuring Rob Thomas.

What is the next one?

KB needs to wake up and play this game. My computer sound is out again so I can't listen.

Leslie, we need to have a telethon to raise money for you to buy a sound card and speakers that work.

Andrea Boies (Wilcoxen)

Hi Classmates! Long time no post! although I wasn't a major contributor to the forum and didn't spend countless hours on it like Joanie, Teresa, KB et al, I am glad to be going back to the old format!

Jimmy and i are still in Houston, but the good news is he is on his last chemo cycle!!!!!!! We should be here through July and I begin to melt everytime I walk outside...it is so ^%$# hot!!!! I keep thinking I'll get a savage apartment pool tan, but i can't stand the heat....about 30 minutes and I'm back in the AC. Jimmy is doing well, but this round has him on 9 steroid pills a day, so he has a major case of the fidgets and has alot of bone pain.... He is looking forward to starting school again at OU in the fall and we hope he will be physically able to handle it!

Hope all is well with everyone. CJ, Jim said you were out at the with a girl who is helping you remodel your house.....yea right!
Andrea

Yeah! I enjoy "Conversations with....". I am very glad to see the old forum again. Yes, Joanie, I miss your frog too. Was this a way to have CJ update his profile photo?

I really hope that you teachers are relaxing and just taking this summer easy. I know JB isn't - she has too much scheduled (lawns, blackberries, homemade cobblers & wines, garage sales, reading, sleeping, and all the get togethers and Casino/Bingo!!!) Whew, that just wore me out to type all that.

06/09/09 01:26 PM #2497

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

It's almost like last summer! Now if we just had some movies in the park to watch....
I am doing lots of things this summer but I'm certainly making time to do a little relaxing along the way. All work and no play makes Joanie a cranky %&%**. OK, a "crankier" #$%^&!
Andrea, CJ really does have a girl redoing his crackhouse. He tells us it's a 'girlfriend' but we know he's actually paying her. But we're all glad to hear you're on the last leg of the treatments!
As for the songs...I'm out. KB and Steve will have to tackle that assignment.

I do miss my cute frog....

Pondering thoughts, Steve. Do we become unrelated by divorce?

06/09/09 04:12 PM #2500

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

Steve,
What does "marriage" really mean. You stated that we are related to our parents because they were married and they are related to each other the same way.

What about all those children born out of wedlock? Are they not related to both their parents?

06/09/09 04:15 PM #2501

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

Dwayne,
Was one of those songs "The Star Spangled Banner" Jimmy Hendrix style?

06/09/09 04:21 PM #2502

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

Steve - Thesaurus = lexicon (vocabulary, glossary, word list)

My meaningless post of the day:
What year did Jesus think it was?

06/09/09 04:27 PM #2505

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

BC was not acknowledged until after his death...So was there any Greek, Roman, or Scholarly calendar prior to his birth?

06/09/09 04:38 PM #2506

Dwayne Smither

I think the Romans had a calendar prior to Jesus, but it was based on the movement of the sun, (actually earth, but they didn't know that at the time) The problem was that it wasn't very accurate because various emperors kept changing the beginning of the year. At one point they had it so screwed up that they had to have one year with 425 days in order to re-align the sun and seasons with the calendar.

Dwayne, I hope that you are not asking this question as help with your homework...LOL

06/09/09 05:43 PM #2509

Dwayne Smither

Kathy, that is a nice list but it is not the 30 songs I have put together. If you have sound capabilities you can hear the riffs under "Fun Stuff". I will agree that many of the songs on the list you found are on the one I put together.

DS - When you do the telethon for Leslie a sound card and speakers & Joanie another (faster) home computer, Could you add me to the sound card/speaker list. Unfortunately, I have not had sound to hear the "song of the day" nor any of the YouTube postings from the website since the beginning.

06/09/09 05:56 PM #2511

Dwayne Smither

Ahh...I'll add you to the cause, cause you need it. This may turn out to be a week long telethon.
