Tresa Reeder (Davis)

It is party time folks. Debbie lets plan one...

01/02/10 08:49 AM #3565

Kathryn Ritchey (Nightingale)

I am here KB. If anyone answers you on "A warmer place" please share. I am so glad we are in the middle of global warming. I can't wait until the grass turns green on golf courses, then I will know that SPRING has arrived.

I wish all a very prosperous and happy new year. 2010 has many benefits for the class of 78. AARP for one!-only 17 more years to retire if you are like me!

Please let me know of any planned parties-Debbie.

I just saw where Jan Rigney's father passed away.
Please keep his family in your prayers.

Thanks for passing that along, CJ.

I saw that in the paper this morning. Jan you are in our prayers.

01/03/10 09:32 PM #3569

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

Prayers to your family, Jan.

Kathy, I plan to retire in 2 years from May. I will be living on beans and cheap cuts of meat but I am ready to be a lazy bum. Wonder how long the mortgage company will take to kick me out of my house I won't be able to pay for?

We got to break out of here....

01/06/10 12:48 PM #3571

Julie Stiglets (Reagle)

Ooh, Joanie...a looming retirement. I'm jealous. I'll be teaching until I'm at least 95.

Tresa Reeder (Davis)

I can retire in 3 years but i wont be able to afford it and teacher retirement will probably be broke along with social security, medicare and everything else.

Kansas According to Jeff Foxworthy:
If you're proud that your region makes the national news at least 96 times each year because it's the hottest or the coldest spot in the nation, you might live in Kansas.

If your dad's suntan stops at a line curving around the middle of his fore head, you might live in Pratt, Kansas.
If you have worn shorts and a parka at the same time, you might live in Colby, Kansas .
If your town has an equal number of bars and churches, you might live in Hays, Kansas .
If you have had a lengthy telephone conversation with someone who dialed a wrong number, you might live in Caney Kansas .
YOU KNOW YOU ARE A TRUE Kansan WHEN 'Vacation' means going east or west on I -70 for the weekend.

If you measure distance in hours, you might live in Kansas .

If you know several people who have hit a deer more than once, you might live in Medicine Lodge, Kansas ...

If you often switch from 'Heat' to 'A/C' in the same day and back again, you might live in Fredonia, Kansas .

If you can drive 65 mph through 2 feet of snow during a raging blizzard, without flinching, you might live in Kansas City,Kansas .

If you see people wearing camouflage at social events (including weddings), you might live in Great Bend, Kansas .

If you install security lights on your house and garage and leave both unlocked, you might live in Augusta, Kansas .

If you carry jumper cables in your car and your girlfriend knows how to use them, you might live in Cherryvale, Kansas .

If driving is better in the winter because the potholes are filled with snow, you might live in Wichita, Kansas .

If you know all 4 seasons: almost winter, winter, still winter and road construction, you might live in Pittsburg, Kansas .

If your idea of creative landscaping is a statue of a deer next to your blue spruce, you might live in Baxter Springs, Kansas .

CJ - I was just informed that Jim Ritchey is going to run for mayor of Muskogee also. I really need to subscribe to the Muskogee Phoenix. Maybe second hand news won't be such a shocker!!!
