Leslie Crow (Reid)
Cambryn goes to tutoring twice a week, at a lady's house (former teacher who lives alone). When I dropped her off, all was fine. When I went in to pick her up, something didn't feel right. The tutor remained seated and seemed a little disoriented. I stayed and talked, trying to figure out what was going on, if I should call 911 or what. She kept getting worse. When she finally stood up she couldn't walk. So...........
I decided either she was having a stroke, a drug reaction, or she had gotten drunk during Cambryn's lesson. Easily ruled out drunk, next ruled out stroke. She was fast becoming incoherent but kept denying she had taken any medicine.
Took a quick look through her bathroom and saw a glucose meter! Did a blood test and it was 26 mg/dl. Not good!!! Found she was wearing an insulin pump so got that shut off, then got her to drink some juice although she was uncooperative, slightly belligerent. Also found some candy.
Stayed a couple of hours monitoring her glucose until she was stable and could turn her pump back on. She said if I hadn't been there she probably would've died, since no one would've looked for her anytime soon (no family in town).
That's my story. Sorry it didn't involve CPR!
