Hey, I heard CJ is getting married in Memphis!

Tama, my girls will be at the airport today--LOL

02/27/09 01:47 PM #2065

Chris James

Tama, I'm going to wear that shirt out! lol I love it.

I'm trying to find one that says "I love Midgets"

Tresa Reeder (Davis)

Before you know it Chris will be marrying a midget Elvis impersonator in Memphis and we will be chartering a bus down there.

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

my son is hitch hiking as we speak. (I wish)
and you all thought the hurricanes were bad.... just you wait.

Stalking is my new hobby since I don't have the money to casino as much as before. You're my first victim, Chris.

Chris, please tell everyone that Great Aunt Dora is NOT a midget (though she HAS been known to do a crackerjack Elvis impersonation!)(she also keeps a pied-a-terre at a secret location in the Deep South...though I never knew it was Memphis until now).

How are you nuts today?

Thanks for the 'welcome backs' last week, Tresa and Joanie!

Tresa, we've still got that boat - some woman was going to buy both it and the 1-ton pickup (which would have totaled $4,300), then her husband talked her out of it at the last moment...what a headache!

02/27/09 02:13 PM #2069

Kenny Boling

mark,
what kind of boat is it?

02/27/09 02:15 PM #2070

Mark Whitman

Joaniecakes! Sorry to hear of your kids' travails (and your resulting headaches)...one of my dearest old friends has had so many probs with hers that she reports that, like a sick parrot, she's been pulling out her hair/feathers (yes, she has both!) and had to resort to the former Hair club for Men (it's now for women, too).

Kenny,
It is a 1986 Astroglass fifteen-footer, with a 50 HPR Mercury motor, 2 fishfinders, a trawling motor, and its own trailer. It's hardly been on the water since 2002 or 2003 (and not a whole lot before, as my step-grandfother just played around fishing for a month or two in the summers). My grandmother wants $2,800 as is or $3,100 if she has a guy get it up-to-speed.

02/27/09 02:33 PM #2072

Pam Humphrey (Beck)

OK, Mark, had to drag out the dictionary on that one.

Just watched "Changeling"--thought is was very good.

Joanie Brown (Edwards)

Yep, just wait for Debbie to tell us what to bring. You can tell Tresa is dieting...she thinks about food. I told my friends at school they have my permission to punch me if they see a cookie or chip or hot, buttered roll in my hand.

Tama, that sounds like mucho fun! We're waiting for the Chili Cook Off here. Not quite like your shindig but it's all we've got. I'm sure your stomach thanks you for being good.

I rented 'Catch Me if you Can' (a little behind in my movie watching) and 'Blood Diamond'. I heard they're both really good but I'll give you the Joanie review later.

This gal on OETA just made a sandwich and she is spreading fig jam on it! Every time she says fig jam it cracks me up! Why am I so sophomoric????

02/28/09 11:48 AM #2084

Chris James

I LOVE FIGJAM!!!!!

02/28/09 12:44 PM #2085

Tama Brantley

joanie - i do the same thing when i hear the word or see fig jam in the stores and when i see phil mickelson on tv (i think that's the figjam golfer...chris plz correct me if i'm wrong.) in fact, i have a small fig tree in my yard - if it had any figs on it, i'd dress one up, name it cj & post a pic on this site! the upcoming chili coof-off in your area (?) sounds FUN too - when is it? ya'll havin a mhs class uh '78 team? could scheme & plot at deb's - ;>

here's a quick n easy appetizer recipe for ya'll's shindig if you serve mexican:

taco balls -
ground beef (2 lb)
pico de gallo (2 c)
salsa (1 c)
taco seasoning (1 pkg)
egg (2)
crushed tortilla chips (half large pkg)

(add shredded cheese if you want - probably a 12 oz pkg or make queso to dip 'em in & don't add any cheese to the recipe!)

roll into 1" balls, place on foil covered cookie sheet, bake @ 350 for 30 mins.

the wind is blowing a million miles an hour here - might blow me to muskogee if i go outside!

02/28/09 12:50 PM #2086

Chris James

I don't make nothing with the name "balls" in it.

Very good, Phil's nickname is FIGJAM. ha

Chili cook-off here is April 17-18

02/28/09 01:16 PM #2087

Tama Brantley

chris - females eating taco balls could be a titillating show! might want to re-think your thinking...hee hee!
i get points for phil mickelson - sweeeeet!
