Hard to remember everything . . . joined the Navy saw the world. Fell in love with San Diego then fell in love in San Diego. Beautiful wife of 21 years that I'm amazed still puts up with me. Made San Diego my home in 1986 (Hard to believe I've lived here longer than Muskogee!). After the Navy went back to school for my engineering degree at University of California, San Diego. Along the way had 4 beautiful sons that, no matter how hard I try I can't seem to screw up (must be their Mom's influence). They are all handsome, smart, responsible, conscientious, polite . . . all the things I wasn't at their age. Oldest son, Neil, graduated form UC Irvine 5 years ago and is living in Costa Mesa (Orange County). Three younger sons all in high school, Jarrett graduates this year, Nathan is a sophomore and Stephen a freshman. Jarrett tried water polo and swimming (chip off the old block!) his Freshman year, did pretty well but discovered Lacrosse his sophomore year (what could be better than running around beating each other with sticks?) and hasn't looked at swimming since. Despite my lobbying Nathan and Stephen didn't even bother, picking volleyball and golf instead. Thankfully the boys enjoy visiting Steve and Tommye in Muskogee every summer for 2-3 weeks. Really like setting off fireworks on the 4th of July. Mom and Dad also travel out here 3-4 times/year so they've seen the boys grow up.
I've been working the local biotech industry for the last 16 years. Currently employed at Life Technologies as Facilities Director. The last few years of working have been kind of like the Navy, with much world travel . . . China to Israel and everywhere in between. Thankfully that has settled down and I can spend more time at home. Currently concentrating on raising my sons, focusing on my marriage, thinking about this reunion and the great friends I haven't seen or heard from in decades and trying to understand where 30 years, and my beautiful hair in that senior picture, went.
Not a single story to tell, rather the aggregate memory of time spent at Three Forks. I won't go into specifics for fear my kids may read this (you know why). Sure it was wreckless, irresponsible, unsafe, near debauchery . . . but no denying it was 'sow your wild oats, get your ya yas out' fun. Who knew a '74 black superbeatle could make it up that underpass!? (sorry if that's too obscure, but there are some who will remember)
