wow..where do I start...Becky and I were friends forever and was lucky enough to be her first roomate and her mine..we lived together when she first found out about her cancer,,what a fighter...she did everything she could to fight that horrible disease with integrity and grace,,but I have to tell you about her death..briefly,,,Terri Allen and I were there along with JimBob and her family but I have to tell you that right after she died, Terri and I were leaving the hospital and it had been raining that day and still overcast but as soon as we walked out of that hospital the most beautiful rainbow appeared along with the sun,,I will never forget it,,gives me chills now..Becky was a angel here on earth and I assure you she continues to be now,,,she will be at reunion in spirit and many many memories and pictures that we have of her..again,,,GONE BUT NEVER TO BE FORGOTTEN.. Becky often crosses my mind... she stays in my heart always. She was so strong up to the end. I have many pictures of her and go through them time to time. We were all blessed to have known her and to have her in our lives. She was beautiful inside and out.
What a sweetheart. She put up such a brave fight. I was working at the MRMC at the time and saw her numerous times during her battle. She always kept that sweet smile even though she was in pain or weak. So sad to have her leave this earth way too soon. We'll have a cold one for you at the reunion Beck cause we know you'll be there.
Becky was such a great person and I'm really blessed to many memories growing up with her. Our birthdays are the same day, May 21. When we were young we always used to say we were cousins because of this even though we really weren't. In grade school we lived in Pleasant Valley and one time we put together a talent show with our younger sisters and sold tickets to the whole neighborhood. We had it in my garage and I remember we danced and sang and served popcorn and kool-aid for intermission. I still think about her often and know she's watching over us. I just wish she didn't have to leave so soon.
When I am thinking about my years growing up in Muskogee Becky is always there with her beautiful smile. That is the kind of person Becky was--touching peoples lives in such a wonderful way. I grew up with Becky thru our schools years and I also remember going to Pleasant Vally to see her, Christy Bruce, & Dennis Armstrong. I know Becky watches us all from heaven and she can still make us all smile with the wonderful memories we have of her.
