Funeral services for Horace "Butch" Emmett Burris, 55, of Fort Gibson, OK, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016 at Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home Chapel in Muskogee, OK, with Pastor Fred Igert officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Burris, Craig Burris, Braden Burris, Randy Lee Crowder, Brent Tidwell, Anthony Strickland, Denny Charvoneau, David Burris, Jim Burris, and Mark Igert.
Butch was born July 6, 1960 in Muskogee, OK, the son of Arthur Emmett Burris and Elizabeth Ann (McGowan) Burris and died Monday, June 13, 2016 at his home in Fort Gibson, OK. On October 26, 1990 he married Debra Ann Elliott in Muskogee. Butch loved to hunt, fish, camp, ride horses, cookout, be in the outdoors, and have family gatherings. He loved his family and the Lord. He was a member of the First Indian Baptist Church of Muskogee.
Survivors include his parents, Emmett Burris and Ann McGowan-Burris; wife, Debbie of the home; two sons, Brad Burris and wife, Charlotte, of Fort Gibson, Craig Martin Burris of Muskogee; daughter, Colby Elizabeth Burris of Fayetteville, AR; five grandchildren, Rian, Braden, Gracie, Tristian, Colby, and Kristen; two great-grandchildren, Nolan and Cason; sister, Elizabeth Annette Crowder and husband, Randy, of Muskogee; niece, Misti Tidwell and husband, Brent, and family; nephew, Randy Lee Crowder and wife, Kristy, and family; his best friend and dog, Jelly Belly Burris; a host of other family; and countless friends.
