Donald G. Majors, 52 of Muskogee, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 at St. John’s Medical Center in Tulsa.
Don was born October 2, 1961 in Muskogee, the son of Gene Autry and Glenna (Parris) Majors. He married Deborah Hughart on Valentine’s Day thirty years ago. Don was a concrete specialist. Don’s passion in life was coaching sports and mentoring youth. He coached football and basketball, but coaching baseball was his favorite. He coached the Muskogee Tigers to the Little League World Series held in Rome, GA years ago. Don also loved the sport of auto racing and competed three seasons at Thunderbird Track in Muskogee racing in the factory stock car division.
Don is survived by his wife Debbie Hughart-Majors of the home; two sons, Dallas Majors and Landon Majors of Muskogee; grandson, Coltyn Majors, who was the light of Don’s life; two sisters, Glenda Majors Peltier of Warner and Vickie (Jason) Werner of Washington D.C.; two brothers, Rick Majors of Muskogee and Nick (Robbie) Majors of Muskogee; a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 20, 2014 at Timothy Baptist Church in Muskogee with Kelly Payne officiating. Interment will be 2:00 p.m. at Mountain Home Cemetery on Hughart Mountain in Whitefield, OK.
Services are under the direction of Bradley Funeral Service.
