Daryl Keith Crowder, age 59 and a resident of Oklahoma City, but formerly of Muskogee, was called to Glory on Saturday, February 13, 2021 in Oklahoma City.
Daryl was born on May 20, 1961 in Wichita, Kansas to the parentage of James Elihu and Lula Mae [Murrell] Crowder. Later at the age of 4, he moved back to Muskogee, Oklahoma to live with his grandmother. He was baptized at an early age at New Zion Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Reverend Joseph Ballard. He attended Muskogee Public Schools, including Alice Robertson, Sadler Junior HIgh and ultimately Muskogee High School, where he rant track and received several medals. He graduated with the Class of 1979 and after graduation, he joined the Oklahoma National guard, where he was later discharged.
Daryl was a very caring and loveable person that didn't bother anybody. He had a great love for his family and worked several jobs before finding his passion in coaching. He was assistant coach of the Rolo Rangers for 6 years and was head coach for the Chargerettes.
After coaching, he began detailing cars for himself and then landed a job with Brown's Detailing. In 2015, he decided to move to Oklahoma City and started working at Cars 4 Less as a detailer.
Dary had a love for all sports. His favorite teams were the OU Sooners and the San Francisco 49ers.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Lula Mae Waker and James Elihu Crowder; his grandparents, Roscoe and Pearl Murrell and Frank and Eunice Crowder; his great aunt and uncle, Frank and Lula Alexander, his uncles, Luther Murrell, James and Isaac Williams; his sister, Danice Lovell Crowder Cope, his brothers, James Crowder and James Brehon, his grandson, E.J. Johnson and his nephew, DeArziglio Crowder.
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; two daughters, Domonique McCOy, McKinney, Texas, and Christy Brown-Berry [D.J.], Muskogee, Oklahoma; two sons, Daryl Crowder, II, Oklahoma City and Cordale Brown, Muskogee, Oklahoma; nine sisters, Almetris Crowder [K.P., Oklahoma City, Sheryl Crowder, [Loretta], Rowlett, Texas, Allison Walker Coleman [James], Wichita, Kansas, Tina Brehon, Austin, Texas,Renee Newman, Norfolk, Virginia, Shalacia Harris and Talacia Harris, Wichita, Kansas, Aaisha Simpson-Fowler, Chicago, Illinois, Sanerah Simpson, Charlotte, North Carolina and Jonella Johnson, Newark, New Jersey; three brothers, Lamar Crowder, Kevin Crowder and Benjamin Brehon, all of Wichita, Kansas; Mom Mary Crowder, Wichita, Kansas, Aunt Patricia Jackson, Wichita, Kansas and Godmother, Shirley Jefferson Simpson, Muskogee, Oklahoma; 23 grandchidlren; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends whose life he touched. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.
