Harriet Daniel (Leake)

During my senior year I had a terrible car wreck a block from home.  I was returning from a Saturday piano lesson with Weldon Marshall in preparation for an upcoming recital.  I was driving an English Ford which was no match for the very big Buick  that T-boned me.  It was amazing that I escaped with only bumps and bruises.   The next day Bill showed up at my house to say hello and check on me.  After a while he produced all my piano books and gave them to me.  Bill had made a special trip to the salvage yard to retrieve them for me since I needed them for practice.  I know Bill Hearn had one of the most generous hearts of anybody I've ever known.  His sweet nature and beautiful voice will always be in my memory as well as his many unheraleded acts of kindness.
