What a wonderful friend she was. Her home was a center for such fun and laughter. I remember slumber parties and trips to their cabin on Ft. Gibson Lake. She was smart and funny, a winning combination. She and I shared the fact that we were both only children. I would stop by her Mom,s house when I would see her Texas car in the driveway. When the Christmas cards stopped coming, I knew something had happened. Carole had died suddenly, much like her Father. I can still hear her voice and her laughter..both so rich and full of life. I miss you.

Carole was so much fun.  Curiously, I never saw her mother standing or walking...she was always sitting in her living room chair reading a book.  My mother was mysterious also, so I sort of thought maybe Carole and I had the mysterious-mother thing in common.  At her slumber party one night, we got the bright idea to go over the fence to the street just south and toilet paper Mrs. Hudson's porch...that would be t.p. on top of honey...we scampered back to the Chacey property without ever getting caught.  About 25 years later, at Kate Frank Manor, I was riding in the elevator with a tiny woman about 98 lbs......"Are you Judy Kay Wilson?".....I replied,"Yes, do I know you?"....Oh yes, the tiny woman said "I'm Leola Hudson and I just want to tell you that you and all your sweet friends were the best girls I ever taught."......I hope God and Mrs. Hudson have thought of several acts of contrition for me to perform before going through the Gates (if I get to go).

Carole was always a fun and kind person who left us much too soon. I still remember her beautiful family home on West Okmulgee when it was in House Beautiful magazine.
