Went to Angelina Jr college one year, then ended up @ Temple Jr college for my second year of Respiratory Therapy. Worked full-time evenings @ Scott & White. Memorial Hospital. After graduation, I married a nurse I met @ S&W. He joined the Air Force and that's how I ended up in Sacramento, CA. I divorced him about 6 years later, hey! it was the 70's and I was too young to be married. ;-) Spent my formative years water skiing the American & Sacramento rivers in summer & snow skiing the Sierras in the winter. Learned to free dive for abalone and basically partied, travelled, and lived life to the fullest. Worked full-time @American River Hospital (which has since been razed) for 18 and a half years. Until husband #2, who worked for UseLess, oops! I mean USAirways got transferred clear across the country to South Carolina. He absolutely hated the south and transferred to Pittsburgh (THAT'S an improvement??), what a douche. I refused to go, hell he moved me 3000 miles from a place I could truly call home, plus I already did the moving around thing with my dad being in the Air Force. Did the long distance thing for a couple of years, till he divorced me a couple of years later.....but I got the house & all the belonging, so it worked out for me. Next thing ya know, I'm certified in Scuba diving, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes & buying a brand new Harley Davidson Super Glide in 2002. Have ridden Sadie to California & back twice and Sturgis once. Continue to work full-time @ Greenville Memorial Hospital, but instead of stinky adults I work NICU do NICU transports. Been working full-time in Respiratory since I was 18, pretty tired but just having to decide if I do early retirement @ 62 or suck it up to 65..... My son, David still lives in Sacramento. That's all he knows and I think he considers himself a California dude. My granddaughter is 18 this year & was just diagnosed with Lupus. MAJOR *sad face*
Not really sure why I'm here.....never felt welcome nor that I belonged. Why my dad chose to retire from the Air Force here still eludes me. I was a seasoned world traveler & moved to East TX from Guam, quite the culture shock. Especially since no one was particularly friendly to me. I did manage to buffalo my way into the "cool kids" lives by playing powder puff football my junior & senior year. Dated that younger dude, Tommy Sparks which ended badly and I have bad memories of that relationship. Did have a good friendship (eventually ) with underclassman, Debra Stallings so I guess it wasn't ALL bad..... There were several people
I did enjoy knowing......Jimmy Battle,Debbie Eickenhorst, Debra Carlisle, Jackie Eddings to name a few. I hung out with Doug Witte for a bit after graduation and I am truly saddened to learn he had died.....way too soon & young. Bruce Cofer was a nice guy & I always thought David Shipley was hot (rode the same bus) and that Gene Gay was funny as crap.
