Can you cover 39 years here? After graduation I travelled to Alaska with my grandparents by car. It was a wonderful trip. After returning to Nac I worked at Tinsleys Fried Chicken on South street and then at Leisure Lodge nursing home as a kitchen assistant. In August of 1975 I entered Nacogdoches Memorial Hospital School of Vocatioal Nursing (last class) for a year. I received my LVN license in October of 1976 and began working at Nacogdoches Convalescent Center. In 1980 I married my future ex-husband and we had three children. In 1985 I was diagnosed with retinitis pigmentosa aka tunnel vision and was told I could lose my eyesight but that it would be gradual. In 1986 I was diagnosed with cervical cancer and had surgery to remove it. In 1988 I divorced my husband. Throughtout most of this time I worked in nursing homes in the Nac area. Two of these years were spent in Columbus, and Texas City, Texas. In 2000 my ex-husband died leaving me and the kids responsible for his final arrangements. Having told me and the kids that he did not want to be buried we had him cremated and I had to put it on my credit card....I then thought of the title for a book.....Do Hot Hesitate.....Cremate.....and other helpful tips for divorced women. I never wrote the book but its not too late. In 2003 I met Andrew online and we met in August of that year. In 2004 I flew to the United Kingdom with Andrew leaving my kids and family behind. It was very hard to do. Later in 2004 I returned to retrieve my oldest grandson, marry Andrew, and later return to England with Adrian in tow. LOL......He was only 20 months old and that was the longest flight I have ever taken. On arrival the man sitting in the seat next to me said "I bet you feel like you fought a bear all night." I told him I had and that I think he won. He told me No, your still here. So here I am still in England wondering what the heck I was thinking. I hibernate in the winter wearing thermals from October to April. The summers are not too hot and the light hours are great. We have travelled to many countries and I love it. Despite all this I still long to spend time with my growing family. In 2007 we began the process of getting an immigration visa for Andrew and I think we are almost at the end of that process. I still have a home in Nac and we bought a home there in 2007 and I am looking forward to living there. As the doc said my vision has gotten worse. I have no night vision, and I haven't driven since 2006. I have been white cane trained and am a member of the Shooting club for the blind here in England. Its a fun sport and I enjoy it. I enjoy cooking, photograpy, gardening, and travel. I have really enjoyed reading the class of 72s profiles and looking at the photos.
Gosh, other than looking out the girls bathroom window every morning watching a senrior that I had a crush on walk across the playing field the only two things I can think of is Mrs. Bennetts biology class where Huey threw his gum out the window and she made him go get it and him turning over a desk in the same class.
