Lisa Steed

Left Nac in 1977. First to Houston where I worked for Pennzoil first then got into stock brokerage. Ran away to Los Angeles in the mid-80's, then back to Houston where I worked in PR & events at the Houston Chronicle for 10 years. A life-changing accident gave me wanderlust, so I moved to New York City in 1999 to be a personal assistant to a television licensing pioneer (Teletubbies). 2800 live bands and 200 Broadway plays later, I moved back to Nac in 2009 to hang with my family and dig in the dirt. I've been pleasantly surprised to be employed in arts administration, 10 yrs SFA Art, now working toward getting an arts center for Nac. It's been a trip running into old classmates and seeing ghosts of parties past practically everywhere.

I loved high school and the cameraderie that ran through the entire experience. I am grateful for the friendships I made and the shared experiences that keep me smiling to this day. It's been kinda great coming back here because my half-memories of an occasion are sometimes completed by someone who shared it and remembers the other half. It has also been humbling to see the passing of many old friends' parents and heartbreaking to lose too many of our classmates so early. There's no time like the present to get together.
