WALNUT CREEK - Following a brief Illness, Karen Violi, 48, died Monday of complications of pancreatitis at John Muir Hospital.

She was born Oct. 21, 1946, In Centralla, Wash., but was raised and attended schools In Napa.

For many years, Karen worked as a secretary at Queen of the Valley Hospital. For the past year, she was employed by an association of physicians In Oakland and lived In Walnut Creek.

Immediate family survivors are her son and his wife, John and Angle Wullaert; her parents, Vera and Joe Gabel; an aunt, BIIie Gabel; and one grandchild.

Private Interment will be at Napa Valley Memorial Park.
