JoAnn and I meant each other in the 7th grade and were close friends until her passing in 2009 from COPD.  She had three children and quite a few grandchildren.  It was extremely difficult as she passed the day prior to my mom, leaving a void of two people I loved very much.

We met, joAnn and I, and lots of other girls, in our 7th grade Homemaking class at Redwood, every Napa Junior High offered a class like that...to prepare one for marriage, I am assuming).  We saw it as a fun way to meet up, cook awful food (we picked lollipops as our candy project--the most difficult choice we could find, and it was a total disaster, I believe we had to replace a school pot-- sew strange looking skirts together, set a table and be pleasant!  I had so much fun with JoAnn who was an old soul, smart beyond her years and sophisticated in life that a hick like me from the sticks loved.  I'm sorry to have lost track of her later in the school career.
