Mike, who was a retired postman (having served for 36 years!), passed away on February 3, 2018. He had been a member of the US Air Force, thus had a private military funeral. One of the things he liked to do in his spare time was "umpire"...he did so for 35 years!

Sad to hear. Met Mike at Ridgeview in band which he continued with but I didn't. Got a chance to talk to Mike at the 50.

Sad to learn of Mike's passing. Umpiring for 35 years is no mean feat. It takes a lot of fortitude and a strong constitution. Considering the little league parents and some of the players today, it wasn't easy. Mike showed what he was made of. May he Rest in Peace.
