Dawn Hershey (Clark)

Dawn Hershey (Clark)

Dawn Elaine (Hershey) Clark of Wooden Valley passed away peacefully after a lengthy illness on March 12,

2025 at Kaiser Hospital in Vallejo.  She is survived by her husband, George Gilman Clark, her two children, Tracy Hardee and Nate Clark, Tracy's husband, James Hardee, and three grandchildren, Steven, Trevor and Morgan Hardee.  She is also survived by three sisters, Joyce, Evelyn and Candy.

Dawn was born in San Francisco.  The family moved to Napa when she was young.  She was a member of Job's Daughters and a proud 1965 Napa High alumni!  She worked at Mare Island and Partick's Candy before becoming a teachers' aide for the Napa Valley Unified School District.

Dawn liked to garden and collected owls (she appreciated their wisdom!)

There was a private family service for her.

Carla Parmley (O'Shaughnessy)

Dawn and I first met as first graders at a newly opened elementary school. I remember her being a friendly, somewhat quiet, intelligent girl. She and her sisters had lovely singing voices.  In the summer, we would see each other at Vichy Springs swimming pool, which was on the site that was taken over by the Silverado Golf Club.  I don't believe that we had any classes together after entering Silverado Junior High, and drifted apart. We did  have some time together at Job's Daughters activities.  We lost contact with each other after high school graduation, when we went separate ways.  Fortunately, we were able to regain contact on this classmate site.  She told me that she and her husband had lived in Italy for awhile, and would like to return for repeated visits if possible.  She enjoyed travel, and shared this enjoyment with her husband, Candy, her children, and her grandchildren. She and her husband worked on their ranch, so travel was limited. I never heard Dawn say an unkind word about anyone. Rest in peace, Dawn.
