Bob passed away unexpectedly in November, 2024 in Carlsbad, CA...one of the two places he called "home".
He was born Robert Edward Jenkins on November 30, 1947 in San Francisco to Beverly and Frances Jenkins. When he was about two years old, his family moved to Napa...to Shipyard Acres, and finally to Alta Heights. He attended Alta Heights Elementary, Silverado Junior High and graduated from Napa High in 1965. After high school he began a machinist apprenticeship at Mare Island...completing it in 1969. After a number of different jobs, Bob finished out his career based at Camp Pendelton managing several military base dental offices in the Southwestern US.
Bob married Diane July 18, 1970. They had 3 children, Arik, Christy and Sandra. Bob was the grandpa to 7 grandchildren...he enjoyed spending quality time with them and their parents...camping in tents in the Sierras to ocean cruises to exotic destinations.
He was a hard worker all his life and built a nice life to share with his family. He will be missed!
His service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2024...11:30 A.M. at Grace Church, Solano Ave, Napa

I met Bob on my first day of school at Alta Heights Elementary in 1954. We walked together and he introduced me to Ms. Balch, the second grade teacher. We spent time together as kids, but diverged as we grew up. Bob's parents doted on him, and he always had the nicest toys, and later motorcycles and cars (a Corvette convertible). I lost track of him after high school, but we reconnected briefly about 20 years ago, and exchanged e.mails. He was proud of his children, and kept busy staying fit (a bike rider). He told me about riding around the old neighborhood on his bike, checking out all the houses we lived in. Bob was a good guy. I'm sorry I never saw him in person as adults.
