These are words from his widow, Lynn (Perhay) Jones...a Napa High 1965 grade like Dave!

After 22 years in the Navy, Dave worked in Silicon Valley for electronic companies, ending as a National Sales Mgr for Hewlet Packard.  He always wanted to teach grammar school, so he returned to college after retiring to get his teaching degree.  After graduation with his credential, he and Lynn (Perhay) Jones moved to Lahaina where he taught 4th and 5th graders.  This was he and his family's second time living in Hawaii, totaling 12 years.  Since he loved motorcycles and because there was only one freeway on Maui, they moved to SC to be near the Blue Ridge Mountains.  He rode his bike across the USA 3 times and rode almost every day in the mountains.  When his last grandchild was born in AZ, he and Lynn moved there.  He rode his bicycle 42 miles 3 days/week and played pickleball on his days off.  He died totally unexpectedly of a heart attack on 5/5/2024 leaving Lynn, 2 children and 3 grandchildren.
