Shirley Ann Knudsen Fife passed away suddenly on Nov. 6, 2010, in Sacramento. She was born July 18, 1949, in Auburn, Calif. She had been living for the past several years in South Lake Tahoe with her husband, Don Fife. Shirley’s early working years were as a dental assistant in Napa. She then served as the first director of the Napa Valley Wine Auction for a number of years. Shirley then returned to school to fulfill a lifetime goal of becoming a registered nurse. She began her nursing career at Barton Hospital and EI Dorado County Jail. Her last seven years were spent working at UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento. (Jerry Larghi found this information)
