Gene Gourdon, 78 years of age and a resident of Clarence, LA, passed away Wednesday, September 19, 2018, in Shreveport, LA.  He was born August 21, 1940, in San Francisco, CA to Henry and Beatrice Davis Gourdon. He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandson, Colton Gourdon.

Gene proudly served in the United States Army as well as the Clarence Fire Department District 3. He was a hard worker and provider for his family, a handyman of sorts; he particularly enjoyed mechanic work and a few cold PBR’s. As a family man his time was well spent with his loved ones, and in his free time, he was a true Louisiana outdoors-man who loved to hunt and fish. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Lillian Elaine Dalme Gourdon; sons, Charles Gourdon, Raymond and Brenda Gourdon, Kevin and Tracy Gourdon, and Kelly and Kathryn Gourdon; grandchildren, Cody Gourdon, Katelyn Litton, Justin Gourdon, Courtaney Self, Thomas Gourdon, Richard Gourdon, Heather Murphy, Brooke Miles, Alana Pritchett, Lauren Pritchett, Caleb Pritchett, Adam Ray Dalme and Nicole Blackmon; great-grandchildren, Georgia Grace Litton, Lillian Murphy, Harli Dalme, Cameron Litton, Corbin Litton; one brother, Harold Glenn Gourdon; and two sisters, Darlene Perkinson and Linda Watson.

Those honored to be pallbearers include Cody Gourdon, Justin Gourdon, Thomas Gourdon, Richard Gourdon, Adam Dalme, and Ricky Thompson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Terrell Scott, Sonny Gourdon, Thomas Brown, Kenny Raynes, Mark Walker, Billy Jennings, Joe Friday, Charles Thompson and Harold Tige Alldredge.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you please donate to the St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Gene’s name.
