Mr. Haynes was born on 26 February 1903 in Ashland, Clay County, Alabama & died on 14 May 1972 in Natchitohes.  He, and his wife, Leona, are buried in Memory Lawn Cemetery, Natchitoches, LA.

Mr. Haynes was a Louisiana State Representative from 1956 to 1960 as well as an agriculture teacher at NHS.
