After Blair Cooper, Daryl was the next kid I remember growing up in Fairview. Even then he had glasses about an inch thick which led to his Mr. Magoo nickname which I'm sure would be frowned on now. We were friends all through school and when I was back in Nelson in 1972-4. We didn't see each other for years until he moved to Logan Lake. I was in Kamloops so I'd run into him when he was in town shopping. This was in late 90's early 2000's.He was such a friendly and easy going person and I'm sorry to see him go.
Bob..well said, Daryl lived 1/2 block from my house and hs house was across Nelson ave from my grand mother, we hung out a lot as kids both their house and ours...on 3rd sreet a couple of doors down 3rd from Davies st.... yes those "glasses" he took a lot of shit because of those... lol lol
Just saw that Daryl had passed. He sold me my wife's engagement ring on New Year's Eve 1971 when he worked for his dad at the jewelry store. Ernie and my dad's partner Tom Dyer were related. A good man gone to soon.
