I just moved back to Payne Gap after living in Mi for the past 20 years. I love the outdoors; Hunting, Fishing, Camping, and reenacting I started out with the early history of Letcher co 1796 then progressed up to the civil war period, now the cowboy era has caught my attention. I have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. I feel like Forest Gump with life being like a box of chocolate you just never know what the next day will bring.

My 10 memories of FNHS
1. No grass on the football field Just mud, coal and hide
2. Playing our home basketball games at Whitesburg
3. Death race??s of the hill at Lunch break
4. Bus rides to Vocational school
5. Old wooden bleachers at the football field
6. Fall out shelter doubling as dressing room for football team
7. A basketball gym that would have been rejected in Hell
8. Saturday night football games
9. Bus rides to home basketball games
10. The sweet smell of honeysuckle at the foot of the hill.

Not all treasure is silver and gold, mate.
