(Sonja )Sondra Mercer Johnson

I married my ex-husband, George Johnson from Jenkins, in 1974. After the death of my mother and birth of my son in 1977, we moved to Ashland, Ky following George's job where we lived for 9 years. My daughter was born in 1979 while we were there. Because of George's job, we moved back to Jenkins in 1986. In 1988, we moved to London,Ky. Then in 1989, we moved back to Jenkins. After my children were in middle school, I decided to go to college and obtain my teaching degree, something I had always wanted. I graduated with a bachelor's degree in education in 1994 then went on to get my master's degree in education. I divorced in 1997. I began teaching at Jenkins Middle High School and am still there. I really love teaching and enjoy spending time with my children, grandchildren, and students.
