How I miss the "Pirate Pride" in our wonderful hills, and why did they let it go? I understand "time has no perspective of place or person", but why did they take our beloved FNHS.

I was chalanged some years ago as to my loyalty when my career (RADIO) collided with public prespective. It was then during my on air editorial response, I coined the phrase "my blood runs pruple". I finsihed my statement by saying this "so as you pass through Neon, look up, there she stands "ERR SO PROUDLY, FLEMING-NEON HIGH".

The purple blood has turned to "purple tears", and memories continue to fade, but not my school spirit. Occasionally you still can here me say "GO PIRATES", and my favorite colors are still PURPLE AND GOLD!!!!...FOREVER IN MY HEART JR. KINCER

Began in 1960, finished 1964. Played football, ran track, and was a member of the greatest high school band in the land, "The FNHS MARCHING BAND" I loved all my classmates, upper and lower,
I loved my teachers , and loved my school best of all, and cried the entire day I graduated, of course being the youngest in the class I could do that and get away with it!
I finished my education at Eastern Ky University
with a Bachelor of Arts degree in telecomuunications. I came back to Letcher
County, residing in Jenkins, where I have enjoyed
an illustrious career in Broadcasting.
