Well, I left AB in the middle of our senior year (which sucked) and moved to Pittsburgh. Got interested in the culinary field about '85, and got a job as a line cook at a local restaurant (Dingbat's). Discovered that I LOVED cooking, so went to the INternational Culinary Academy in '89. Did some cooking gigs for privately owned restaurants for about 11 years, and finally broke into the ranks of "chef" in 2000 at a place called Karadante's. My life hasn't been the same since. Chef Dan showed me that creating food is the pinnacle of this business.
Did a couple of other sous chef positions before I found my current job- Executive Sous Chef at a private club in Sewickley, the Edgeworth Club. Look it up! As of now, we are being compared to the Duquesne Club in downtown Pittsburgh, which is a HUGE compliment!
I met Amanda at the Edeworth club in 2003, and we hit it off immediately. Two years later, we got married. I guess our honeymoon in Ste. Marteen got the family started sooner than we thought, as Ben was born the next year!
