What? The game is over? It can’t be. We were robbed…robbed I tell you. Michigan didn’t lose… MSU cheated. Did you see those terrible calls? The refs must have kids playing for the Spartans. The timekeeper must be an MSU grad too. I thought that extra second MSU got back in 2001 was bad. This year the timekeeper gave them a whole extra quarter. It should have ended as soon as Michigan took that 21-14 lead.

Oh well. Good job Sparty. My hat is off to you. You are the better team this year, you outplayed Michigan and you deserved to win. GO GREEN!! (I almost just threw up on my keyboard).

hey that cornhole game is a goofy name, when I was workin in Louisville I heard about it and was a lil scared of it till I saw it was the bean bag toss game we call it in MI. they play that instead of horseshoes and here in Ohio they play it inside the bars
speaking of Ohio, man the spartans couldnt beat em so I know the wolverines must be saving it all for the last game
Congrats spartans and hope all had a good time tailgating
I have to hear bout the buckeyes all the time, at least psu beat em but the bengals aint no betr than the lions and browns only a little, close to Penn so guess i be a steeler fan
Kris here is a joke you will like
How do you stop a michigan football player from masterbating?
paint his penis scarlet and gray and he wont beat for years

Hey Mike B, I haven't been keeping up with the message board lately, so maybe it's already been said. But how bout some apple cider and captains?? I had that a few days ago, but the girly version - piping hot in a nice big mug. LOL

Ok... I have to make a late night song posting. Every time I posted a Zamboni's song on here when the Wings were playing, they won.

So since the Wings are down 4-3 right now here's the Zamboni's with "Breakaway":

I hate the west coast.

Freaking A. Stupid NHL. They hate the Wings. I'm not going to make it through this season without losing my mind.

Good morning boys and girls. Today, I have two songs of the day. How many of you remember what Robert Smith looked like before he started wearing the makeup?

The Cure "Play for Today"
(From the 1980 album Seventeen Seconds):

The Cure "Charlotte Sometimes"
(Released as a single in 1981):

Jennifer, don't hate the West (or left) coast. It is really nice here in Washington...except the high taxes, radical liberals, and 8 months of rain. What I hate is that East coast sporting events come on at 4:30 while I am still at work. During West coast road trips I can actually watch the Wings play live...except they aren't on TV around here this week.

You haven't listed my two favorite Zamboni's songs...Hockey on the Moon (The Cold War) and The Goalie is Drunk.

I won't be at the reunion and I don't drink but if someone wants to mail me a bottle of Vernors or Faygo Rock and Rye (do they still make that?) it would be appreciated. LOL

Sorry, bleeding heart liberal here, I love many other things about the west coast but I hate it because the Red Wings shouldn't be in the Western Conference playing until nearly 2 in the morning EST. And I hate all the dirty West coast teams. Pronger needs to go down for that hit to Datsyuk's head last night.

Don't worry, there are plenty of Zamboni songs still to come.

Sorry you can't make it to the reunion. And yes, Faygo does still make Rock n Rye. :)

http://www.faygo.com/ (they have a store locator too)

Chris,

I'm sorry you can't make it to the reunion.

I have located Vernor's in GA and WV, but it does take a little effort. When you ask for it, most people look at you with a funny expression. I have found it at Publix and Kroger. If Kroger doesn't have it now, you can ask and they should be able to get it for you.

Did you ever notice they don't tell you what's in rock and rye? They just call it a creme cola. I had a drunken discussion one time with someone about it. We came to the conclusion that it's some kind of creme cherry cola. Whatever it is, it's freakin' great.

Yeah, I have to say that Rock n Rye is pretty awesome. Hey, do any of you guys remember Towne Club Soda? They used to have a store on 23 Mile Rd. You would buy them by the palette? They had a ton of different flavors and came in those old glass bottles. Those were so good. Their orange pop was great.

Tracey Wolf (Feril)

I do remember the Town Club Soda place on 23 Mile - that place was great. It was almost like you were in the candy store being in there.

Ha! I found an old TV ad for Towne Club:

Geez, you could get a whole case of pop for only 2.16!!!

My goodness! lol.

I flew Horizon Air from Seattle to Reno, NV last summer and they served Vernors. Anyone remember when Vernors was still locally owned and it was about twice as strong as the current version?

In high school I worked at the Cass Party Store in Mt Clemens and in the back storage room they had a bunch of Towne Club pallets that were just sitting there (maybe it was after they stopped selling it). I used to try all the different flavors and it was pretty interesting.

Speaking of my party store job, I remember people thinking I didn't know anything about alcohol since I did not drink. One day I started discussing different varieties of liquor with Jay Lodge and people were surprised. Then it came out that I stocked the beer cooler and the liquor shelves so I knew all of the brands. I think the store owners liked me as an employee since I did not drink and wasn't "sampling" the stock. LOL

Even though it's not quite as strong as it used to be, Vernors is one of my favorite cold remedies. My parents used to give us Mrs. Grass' Chicken Noodle Soup and Vernors when we were sick. (Sometimes with a little shot of whiskey in it to help us sleep! lol) To this day, I can only drink it if I have a cold.

Happy Halloween all... today's songs are just a few of my favorite 80's Halloween-ish songs:

The Fall "Mansion" (instrumental)

Shriekback "Nemesis"

Ministry "Everyday is Halloween"

Bauhaus "Bela Lugoi's Dead"

Depeche Mode's "Black Celebration"

Happy hauntings...

Happy Halloween!

Jennifer, your "happy hauntings" closing reminded me immediately of Sir Graves Ghastly! Growing up I used to watch that show every week. You can revisit those days at http://www.sirgravesghastly.com/

Chris - I was actually wondering if anyone would get that. Lol. That's why I said that. :)

In the latest installment of 21 years ago.....

Over the weekend (10-30-87 to 11-1-87) The AB Tars Football team needed to beat St. Clair to post the first winning record for varsity football since 1979…………They lost 24-0. Also over the week-end Diane Barbour hosted a party at some hotel and Carl hosted a bonfire at his house.

Good morning all... yes it's morning to me. And Lee is making me pancakes right now. Yum! We had a very late, very fun night at a friend's Halloween party. So this morning's song of the day is Whodini "Freaks Come out at Night":
