Heidi - Yeah She wants Revenge are really good. I'm a big fan.

And F yeah that game brought flashbacks of last season. After we passed the 30 second mark, I thought we were ok and then the freaking Pens scored with 22 seconds left. I wanted to throw up. For anyone interested, here's an awesome hockey blog that I read (run by a Wings fan named Paul Kukla):

http://www.kuklaskorner.com/

And one of the sub-bloggers "Abel to Yzerman/aka Chief" does a live blog every game game night (it can get a little crazy in there - we call it the stress train):

(If any of you brave souls decides to join us... there's a lot of lingo thrown around that you might need help with so here's a link to the primer:

That Hypernova tune rocks.

Jennifer,
In prep for my week long travels to FL and Vegas, could you please post Sin City by the Flying Burrito Brothers. I know these guys were popular when we were in diapers. However, Gram Parsens and the Flying Burrito Brothers were the first Country Rock cross over. Bands like Wilco, Son Volt and even the Cowboy Junkies owe much of their success to the ground work laid down by these snazzy dressers.
Thanks

Did I read that right Mr. Ales? Your son plays basketball? Did you marry tall or something?

Ok, Mike Theut... lol, I'm a little confused over your song request but ask and ye shall receive:

And now back to our regularly scheduled 80's song of the day. Today's song is from one of my favorite industrial bands of all time Front 242. Here's "Headhunter" from their 1988 album Front by Front. I have no idea what they were going for with the video concept though... lol.

Jason, glad you liked the Hypernova song. I love introducing people to new music. And these guys really rocked live and they were super nice guys. We hung out with them after the show and had a few beers. I would post the pics but Lee took them with his phone and they turned out too dark. I hope they do really well.

Holy cow, I just realized that the reunion is only 12 days away. Crazy.

i saw the editors with stellastarr*... gotta admit, stellastarr* took the show!

CAREFUL!!! i want everyone to use caution when walking around for the reunion, walk in groups, keep an eye out. i am not saying this because it is detroit, i am saying this because we are living in desperate times. one of my best friends was mugged and beaten right in front of my place this weekend and i live in a super safe hood. so PLEASE use caution!

Morning all... it's a snowy one today here in Cincinnati. Ugh. I'm just not ready for winter. So today's song of the day is Heaven 17 "Let Me Go".

Geez Jeff - that's awful. Is your friend going to be ok?

11/17/08 11:33 AM #855

Jeffrey Murphy

she is sore, a bit shaken, and very upset, but doing a lot better today... i think i am a lot more angry than her because i was home and didnt hear or see anything. maybe thats good though because i have an uncontrollable temper when it comes to that stuff and either he would be dead or i would... and i really dont like either of those options in retrospect.

I have a question for those of you blogging here... I haven't been keeping up with all the convos but would like to get an idea of what the ladies are wearing to the reunion. I don't want to be over-dressed, nor do I want to go under-dressed. Can any of you give me an idea of what the attire will be? I need to start my plan...

Jeff - It's horrible that that happened though but I'm glad she'll be ok.

Laura - I think most of the chicas have decided on cocktail/party dresses kind of stuff. Nothing crazy fancy but since it's at the Whitney, it's a nice excuse to put on something pretty. I have a couple of dresses that I'm trying to decide between. Though I'm so fickle that I'll probably end up choosing something else altogether by the time that day rolls around.

Jeff, I hope your friend is better soon, thankfully she is not hurt more.

Laura, I am going dressy casual, with comfy boots. I wanna eat, drink, and be merry in comfort!

Laura Ward (Ward)

Thanks for the input ladies. That gives me a better idea which route to aim for. I am with Heidi on being comfortable and would prefer not to be so fancy as to be cold (usually those fancy beautiful dresses are without sleeves) or stiff looking. Although it's always fun to dress up to the nines, but my body has also changed so much that I don't think I would score a nine anymore, not that I did before... Just things really have shifted.
Comfy and warm it is..

Jeff,

Sorry. I didn't mean to be insensitive to your friend. That is quite unbelieveable that it happened and I know I am always afraid of what is around the corner no matter where I go. Tell your friend to take a self-defense class and/or a CCW class. I did both. Although I know that come the day, it's questionable how prepared I would be, but it certainly makes me feel better.

Laura,
I'm probably going to be a little fancier just because I NEVER have a chance to dress up anymore. I work in an office with a bunch of guys whose idea of dressing up is putting on their best funny t-shirt. And we sit behind computers all day long.

So I'm looking at it like a fancy date night with my boy where I get a chance to put on something pretty and be a girly-girl. :)

laura,

no worries, that wasnt insensitive at all.... you got me thinking about girls in dresses...

i prefer the little black coctail dress, or cheerleading outfits (just kidding)... not really... ugh

11/17/08 02:48 PM #863

Jeffrey Murphy

listen up crew... i have an extra ticket that i dont want to see go to waste... some take it, whether you need it or not is not important, i dont want to not use it...

jen, you want it, you have been so active on here and i loved the kajagoogoo thing...

11/17/08 03:05 PM #864

Laura Ward (Ward)

Ahh! So, Jeff likes the little black cocktail dress! I was just on Nordstrom.com browsing and there are probably 500 little black cocktail dresses. Most women have one of those in the closet, whether of not it has dust on it is to be determined.

11/17/08 03:48 PM #865

Jeffrey Murphy

f.... its about time... just gave away the ticket! yay!

love the little black coctail dress....

I'm trying to decide between two dresses but I'm still hunting for other options. I'm too fickle to make up my mind this early.

jeff

hope all is well with your pal. what ass to wait for a girl to come outside. i do believe what comes around goes around. god will get him.

any how, cocktails at 5 at the Book.

it will be cold so, we can dress warm and peel off layers inside. how is that. i do agree, we want to be to be able to move and get our groove on too. we need the ultimate dress. warm on but looks sheer, easy to move in and out of. i am not a shopper so if it is out there let me know.
see you soon all.

11/17/08 05:07 PM #868

Yes Kris - Book, 5ish, cocktails, clothes coming off in layers. Leaving your husband at home??

I wear a shirt and tie every day, okay Mink, at least almost every day. I will not be wearing a black cocktail dress, or a shirt and tie. I'll be more on the casual side. I'm on vacation. I want to be comfortable.

I can't believe we're talking about next week.

Also - for those on my squad saturday, let's wear red.
