Chris, I totally knew you were joking and took no offense to miss fishfly. Just brought back that a memory because 20 yers ago the comment was directed at me it was meant to be mean. Of course, that is what one gets when you are part of the fishfly festival. And Mary and Laura, you can rest assured there was no talent competition. We did, however, get to do a pom pom type dance choregraphed by our own Kristin Weinbeck who had been on the court the year before. I can't believe you don't remember the matching outfits and sailor hats. No idea what my sash said. Mary, did you keep the crown? I think mine is in some box around here somewhere. Burn the tape Mary, or at the very least, keep it far away from the reunion. The pictures you posted of Spain were horrifying enough!

And on the subject of concerts, I can say in the past year I have been to Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus and have seen the Jonas Brothers 3, count them THREE times with my daughter. Isn't there anyone else out there with a tween girl?

No, Kel, i don't have the crown or tiara or whatever it was we wore. The sash and pics are quite enough. My niece has been into Hannah Montana and High School Musical for a while now and the younger one still very much into princesses. yikes not sure i could handle a girl. ha! I myself have been thru Spiderman for many years, Star Wars, Transformers, and the latest - WWE! ugh! and we don't even watch tv at home. But it's fun. Couldn't imagine my life without it. 8 days til the reunion! :-)

We took our daughters to the Hannah/Miley/Jonas concert last year. When the Jonas Brothers came out, I heard a note from the crowd that I didn't think was audible. The tweenie screams were unbelievable. I think I punctured an eardrum. They were terrible live. Miley was good though. Things grow on you when you are forced to hear them over, and over, and over.....

Oh that's right! It was a pom routine! I vaguely do remember now. Sailor hat and white shorts and white shoes if I recall...

I live on the West Side now and don't miss the fishflies at all. I remember that your car would slide on them. Or, at least my car did because it wasn't a big heavy car.

Alright, I'm running a little late but here's the song of the day finally. (Stupid work getting in the way of my distractions.) The Knack - My Sharona

And I have to say that I'm sure that having kids is very rewarding... but I'm really glad that I'll never be forced to sit through Barney and Hanna Montana and Rafi and everything else. That's what's so great about being an aunt. I get all the joy with none of the insanity. And since I have the maternal instincts of a brick, it's probably for the best that I'm not around kids very often.

"Miller Drinking, Chicken Eatin', Dress so Fly"

What a great tune. My first concert ever. Beasties at the Fox Theater 1986 with opening bands Fishbone and Murphy's Law. It was freakin' awesome. Song of the day suggestion Fishbone's "Lyin Ass Bitch" or "Party at Ground Zero"

And we win! Yeah, it was by shoot out... pooh. But I'll take an ugly win over a pretty loss any day.

sheesh... this is slowly becoming the JennBlog. Sorry everybody. But I had to post this song. Consider it the Saturday song of the day posted super early. Yes it's a cover song and yes it's a modern version of their cover song but it's so freaking good. And points go to whomever knows who did the original song. Judas Priest "Diamonds and Rust"

So I'm sitting here having a cup of coffee, flipping through the channels and lo and behold, VH1 Classics is running their Totally 80's show. Awesomeness... And on comes Kajagoogoo's "Too Shy" so I'm posting this one for Jeff, in honor of his impressive high-altitude dancing skills.

Hi all... just wanted to let everyone know that I heard from Stephanie Drexler. She wanted me to say that she's doing well and that everything is in order. She said that she'd try to post something when she could.

Hey All, a message from Heather Barbeula....

Hi Carl,

I just wanted to let you know that I am not going to be able to go to the reunion. We are taking the kids on a trip for Thanksgiving. I am bummed that I can't go, but this is not an opportunity we get often. I'll miss you all...I love ya! Can you ever forgive me? Thanks for all you did to get this together. I wish I could make it. Maybe we could have an off-cycle reunion for those who live in the area...it's an idea....

Heather

Bummer! We'll Miss you Heather.

OMG Jenn, your Kiss video made me laugh...and reminded that I met a couple of them quite a few years ago. I met Peter Criss and Mark St John. I'll have to dig up the picture. Too funny.
