Yes, there was a 15 year reunion. But, the people who planned that one had the same problem that we've had with this one: it's hard to find people - no matter how hard you try! Think about it - there are a lot of people that we weren't able to contact for this reunion and we had this wonderful website! Imagine how hard it would be without it.

Everyone has been posting about how nice our class is, right? That was as true five years ago as it is now. No one would ever intentionally leave anyone out. The people who plan our reunions want as much participation as possible. Everyone does the very best they can. Let's not post things that make others feel like they were somehow uninclusive.

So, our job now is to keep in touch and do what we can - all of us - to try to get in touch with the people who weren't at this reunion so that they will be at the next one. :-)

Wow - I didn't know about a 15 year reunion either - and I was still living at the same address as the day when we graduated. Oh well - at least there is this website now....

Tracey,

I don't think that they had everyone's addresses. I lived in GA at the time and the only reason I knew anything about it is because I had kept in touch with Carl and he knew.

Thanks Amy - I know that it's hard to keep track of everyone - you know what's funny and maybe Carl didn't even realize it - but I worked at Mount Clemens General with the interns and residents back then and I believe that Carl was there at that time. I should have asked him back then - so I am at fault.

Maybe we could all try and help find the 170 or so that haven't made it to this website -

I totally agree! It's impossible for 4 or 5 people to find all the people that haven't posted a profile. But if everyone tries to reach anyone that they can, it's much more likely to happen!

I may be beating a dead horse here 1 week after the big event but I'm going to beat a dead horse (figurativly speaking, of course) -

My official vote for best looking in the male catagory has to go to Carl. Damn you're still so smokin' hot, my friend! And best dressed as well! Even Guest Of had to agree with me there. And you get extra props for looking that fine only 1 day after the birth of your 4th child. How do you do it (look that good, that is ;-)?

In the female catagory, all the ladies looked FINE to me! I'm voting for all of you foxes (or cougars or whatever 38 year old babes are called these days)! I can't wait to see how even better you'll all look at 40! Seriously - what has everyone been doing to stay so beautiful? Is it your moisturizer? How do you all do it (look that good, that is ;-)?

I hope that at the next reunion they try to pick a place a little more affordable. My husband and I were going to go, but 150.00 for a night out in this economy is a bit much, add your drinks to that....no way. I know there is a lot of people that would have attended if that price was a little more affordable. Why not somewhere in the area next time that wouldn't cost so much.

Ok, it's all water under the bridge at this point so I'm not making any accusations, but when the people doing the planning for the other reunions could find my brother no matter what state he was living in and yet I never got invited, it really hurt (even if wasn't intentional). So I carried a lot of hurt and resentment for years. And if my brother hadn't told me about this site, I would probably have never known about the 20 year reunion either. And I know I probably would never have wanted to go. But I definitely hold some responsibility for the lack of connection too. After school, I wanted to get the hell out of there and I broke all ties.

All of that said, I am very thankful that my brother told me about this site. I'm completely grateful for the chance to reconnect with people and in some cases, make new connections that I never had before. In a way, I'm glad I didn't go to any of the other reunions. Because I needed to grow up in a lot of ways. But I'm really glad that I went to our 20 year reunion. It was a blast and I had a lot of fun hanging with everyone. I've learned that we have to let go of all the childish feelings of the past. It doesn't matter. It's toxic to hold on to that stuff. And in most cases our perceptions of other people was wrong to begin with. And there's enough strife and anguish in this world that you just can't let the feelings of the past invade your present.

So anyway, no hard feelings on anyone's part, I hope.

Everyone who made the reunion- good for you! It looks like a good time was had by the folks caught on film.
However, I would like to 'nominate' or mention somthings about some of the people from the class of '88 who did not come to the reunion. My nomination is for:
People I wish I had seen pictures of had they been at the reunion:
DeShawna Boyd Boden- DeShawna is still one of the sweetest, kindest people you'll ever want to know. She has her two ADORABLE babies and married a great guy. I don't know a woman with a better sense of humor.
Marty Derenge- Marty, or Martin as he is better known now that we are supposedly grown-up, is one of my favorite people to still talk to from our class. After high school, Marty went in the Navy. The Navy really agreed with ya, bud! I couldn't believe the kid I grew up around came home from the military looking that amazing (total hottie) and still had one of the biggest hearts of anyone in that school.
Tammy Munson Schuere- Ok I haven't been able to spell Tammy's last name since she got married. Tammy has to be one of the most successful people I know. Tammy and her huge sweetie of a husband are living one of those dreams that too many people never get a chance to try. Giantly successful marriage, business and life. I don't know someone nicer for this sort of adventure to happen to.
Let's see....I know I'll think of more after more than one cup of coffee....
This is not to take away from how great the reunion appeared to be, but, I will say is an even better time would have been had, had these folks been able to make it.

Kim, I would definitely have loved to see you there too.

Rai Ann Bentley (Marrocco)

ok, first of all I didn't mean any bad towards anyone about the 15 year reunion. I just did not know there was one! I would not want to have to do everything that the reunion committe does, It has to be a lot of work. And they did do a great job! I do have a question do they keep the addresses from the previous reunions, so they have them for the next reunion? I hope my comments did not start another issue. I need to keep my mouth shut, I seem to start to many issues!LOL Sorry if I did!

12/05/08 11:03 AM #1156

Rai Ann, don't feel that way. I think everyone should feel free to speak up. No one is trying to hurt anyone else's feelings.

And I agree that a lot of credit needs to be given to the people that put all of this together. I can't even imagine what has to go into putting something like this together. They did an amazing job on our 20th reunion and deserve a lot of praise for it.

Thanks Jenn- I'd have loved to come. The timing just wasn't there though. I plan to go to MI when timing will allow. I've made promises to visit and it's coming up on three years since I've been back. For the record, when I found out about this site and I saw Mike was on here, I did contact him to found out where the heck you were. :) I had to laugh thinking of sleep-overs back when. We would be getting our MTV fix and Mike used to huddle up on that huge sofa you guys had with a blanket over his head. He'd only sit there as long as he could stand it. He'd always remind me of Yoda, grumbling about Duran Duran from under his blanket. Good times. Oh!!!! You used to make us some sort of rice, soy sauce, bread crumbs and parmesean cheese stuff. I also remember the first time I ever saw popcorn made in a microwave was at your house. Wow! That was a loooong time ago.

Ok, getting off that subject! Jen, do have any fun plans for the weekend? I know it is hard to beat last weekend!

12/05/08 11:21 AM #1159

Jennifer Schwab

Oh my gosh Kim! That's so funny. I completely forgot about that rice dish. It sounds awful now but I think we liked it then. lol. This is why Lee does all the cooking in our house. I've thought a lot about all the sleepovers and Duran Duran and all the rest these days. Do you remember you and I serenading Shawn Snyder with "Blue Moon" from the deck of my parents house when my brother and I had both of you over?

Good stuff this morning ladies!

Jen, great choice in hotties or best of something, I forgot the category, regardless I knew I always liked you for some reason.

Nicole, I have to agree, Carl has it going on, what a jerk!! and for the rest of the "cougars" as you call em, you are all fine, what a hot ass class!!

The venue that was chosen for the reunion was sweet, I was skeptical at first but quickly realized it was awesome, nice choice committee!!!

I wish Rai. My voice is barely above a squeak at this point. I'm heading to the doctor this afternoon. It bums me out because we had plans to go see our local hockey team with some friends, but there's no way I could do that right now. I do plan on going xmas shopping though. I have toys to buy now! It will be bizarro for me to go into Toys R Us. I don't have kids so I kind of get panic attacks in places where there's tons of kids. lol.

Bob... do you get carded everywhere you go? You still look so young.

And The Whitney rocked. I was really glad to get to go there. But I can understand that it was too pricey for some people.

Kim, I'm having so many flashbacks right now. We were such a couple of goofballs.

12/05/08 11:36 AM #1163

Robert Majewski

Hey Jen, Yep, this kid still gets carded every once in awhile, I just figured it was the poor lighting at the bars.

I agree, the Whitney did rock, I feel the price was appropriate, I took full advantage of the open bar to get my moneys worth, I think I drank enough for me and my wife.

12/05/08 11:40 AM #1164

Jennifer Schwab

Since nearly every picture of me shows me holding a glass of wine, I'm pretty sure I drank my money's worth too.

Nicole - I think the word you were searching for was MILF.

I know that has all the boys laughing this afternoon.

Ok, this is a pretty cool story. My parents' friends Nancy and Clarence own Pointe Hardware on Kercheval on the border of Detroit and Grosse Pointe. One day this guy comes in and stops in his tracks and looks around, then leaves. Then about a half hour later he brings like 20 people with him. Turns out he was a production assistant for a movie that was being filmed in the area. And that movie just happens to be Clint Eastwood's new movie. The guy thought the old hardware store would make a perfect backdrop for some scenes that they needed to get. So they set up for a whole in the hardware store, came in moved stuff around changed the lighting, put up a temporary sign out front and filmed some scenes with Clint in the store. Clarence and his grandson even got to be extras. So cool. Then when production was over, the crew came back and put every single item back in it's original place as if they'd never been there. Anyway, the movie is called Gran Torino and it comes out in December. It looks like it was all filmed right around Kercheval or parts of Detroit. I hope Clarence's scene makes the final cut. It's not in the trailer but that's ok.

Here's the trailer if anyone is interested:

OK, I wasn't going to brag, but now I will. There's a new Brad Pitt movie opening on Dec 25th, called The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. My store was used in the filming. :) The cast and crew were VERY gracious. They had to change everything in the store including taking down my sign because it was supposed to be in the 1930s. They put everything back exactly where it was, and let me hang out (all night) and watch the filming. I kept trying to get in the shots but no luck. I'm told we're thanked in the credits, so we'll see. Anyway, go see the movie. Brad and Angie have done a lot for my adopted city, so I'll support them, and their 16 children.

Wow Lis! That's awesome! So did you actually get to meet Brad? If so, was he as good looking in person?

Also, I have to ask, how many times have you seen Twilight now? lol. My friend Sean is worried that he's lost his wife to Edward.
