Don't get me wrong. I think Theut's story is awesome. The part I had a hard time believing is the cops just 'offering' him a place to sleep it off. My experience with the cops is they usually 'offer' that along with handcuffs and a trip in front of the judge. I was just wondering if Mike was remembering that part correctly :). Mike, glad you made it home from up north. It is very "scenic" there.

yeah.... i actually believe that part of the story... but it does raise questions.

Nicole, the old saying as I remember it goes something like "gas, grass, or ass...nobody rides for free!" They shoulda known.

High Life - Dustbin - thanks for backing me up. I forgot about the old grass, gas or ass saying. Now I think it goes something like "ass and grass, or ass and gas, or just ass".

Um... about the gay sex. You guys know that many of our friends and former classmates are gay and lesbian, so let's not damage friendships by saying things that could really hurt or offend. I know a lot of things said on here are only intended as jokes, and maybe I'm overly sensitive about these things, but I really don't want people getting hurt.

Hey Ninja - Call me if you ever need a ride.

My story was accurate....I swear. While walking to the cop shop, the officer let me walk a couple of the docks to see if I could find a boat that would allow me to crash. I couldn't find one where I knew anybody. As far as the hitch hiking, I know it was stupid. There were no cabs, busses or rental car places. I was truely stranded. I really thought that I would get picked up by another race participant. Oh well, live and learn.

Theut, that's a hilarious story!! Scary - but hilarious!! And I believe that the cop would let you sleep it off at the station. I mean it wasn't like you were driving. There's nothing they can bust a person for if they're just drunk right?

Oh and I have an almost-break in story, with a good ending. Last fall I got home late from a trip. It was like midnight. I was putting laundry in the washer and went to my bed room to change. I heard a ruckus outside my (bay, French-door, with NO dead bolt!) window and I looked up (I have the blinds that you can lower the top down) to see a FACE starring at me!! He was like a foot away from my face! ugh! still gives me chills. He jumped off of the play thing of my son's that he had dragged over to the window (hence, the ruckus) to see in. I called the police of course, and though I lived in NB, Chesterfield came over with the dog (My cousin Ken Franks and my second cousin Chaos! Ha!) and they searched for the sucker til after 3 in the am. Chaos gave him a few new holes in his arm! But it turned out that they had been trying to catch him for months and he had done many break-ins in NB and like 16 in Richmond! Apparently he was on my patio before that, looking in my drop-down blinds (I thought those things were such a good idea at first! ha!) and all he was known for was stealing purses and money, stuff like that. But when he saw me start to undress, he thought he'd get a sneaky-peek in my bedroom. ugh!!! PERV!! He learned not to mess with a Franks! LOL!

Wow Mary, that's a pretty scary story. That's why I keep my house like a cave. We have heavy velvet drapes on nearly every window in the house and hardly ever open them.

Lisa Miller (Shedlock)

That's hilarius Mary...since it has a happy ending!

I have a "funny" prowler story...

The one time Ed ever had to travel for work, I had an experience. I woke up cuz my fat cat was growling. Someone had been pounding on my front door at 2am. After peeking out my bedroom window down onto the porch, I could see a guy. I waited to see if he'd leave. Nope, I then heard him trying to open the front door. SO, I grabbed our gun and went running down the stairs, yelling "who the F*!@ is it?" (trying to sound intimidating). It was this stupid drunk guy looking for a phone. I told him I was using my phone right now to call the police. He left. I was freaked beyond belief. Our house was all windows with a lower level walk out, so I was sure he was going to get in. The cops came and searched everywhere. They couldn't find anything except his footprints in the snow going into the woods. Then the cops said, "but we did find a bunch of beer bottles all around your hot tub", to which I had to confess, "oh sorry, that was us."

Nicole Cassisa (Prevo)

Mary that sounds awful! But I'm so glad the craphead was caught. I'm also glad he got bit by a dog (if I'm interpretting that correctly). It must make you feel good to know you've got family on the force who can protect you so well.

Mary Franks

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lisa, that is great!! Oh I'm still laughing....can't...stop...laughin...

Nicole Cassisa (Prevo)

You're so cute Lisa. And such a badass, too! Although I hate to think you could have been harmed.

If we combined your talents for guns and bad words with my mastery of all the martial arts, I'm thinking we could make a pretty cool movie.

Mary Franks

yeah Nicole, you're right. It was a dog. A big, gorgeous, German Shepard. It's crazy, they are trained so well. He lives with my cousin, of course, he is his partner. He (the dog) actually has a badge, it's cute. He is the sweetest, most playful, dog when he's at home. But when he gets in the Police SUV, he is "working" and he will rip your head off. He goes from sweet, pretty dog, to foaming at the mouth. crazy.

Lisa Miller (Shedlock)

Mary - When Chaos would visit the Twp building, he'd run right to my mom's office. She kept treats hidden there for him (shhhh, don't tell).

You and me Ninja! I was never a fan of Ed keeping a gun in our room, until that night. I even loaded it after that. Its not for everyone but I don't worry cuz we don't have kids and my cats don't have thumbs, so no one got hurt.

12/11/08 05:32 PM #1611

Jennifer Schwab

Lisa, yeah I've thought about that. Lee has talked about getting his gun from his dad's house. But I haven't agreed to it yet. And it's not necessarily that I'm against guns. I'm against me being around a gun and the inevitable self-injury that would ensue.

12/11/08 05:38 PM #1612

Kristi Klein (Logghe)

Man, Lisa, you are a badass, too! Holy crap! You and Ninja could be quite a team! If only everyone in high school had known the real you, they would have been scared of YOU, not Rai Ann!!

my ex loved having a gun... but I wouldn't allow her to keep one in our house...

why?

she had a tendency to want to kill me...

uncontrollable temper + a dislike of me + a good shot = no more jeff...
