So sorry to hear of the passing of another classmate, Jose Gonsalves. The only time that I would see Jose was in passing in the hallways of NBHS, Although I never knew him personally, I always heard good things about him, and after reading the tributes to him it's obvious that he was one of God's blessing to all. For sure, there will not be any stopping on his way to his forever home. May Jose's soul rest in peace. Condolences to his family.
Jose - your upturned eyebrows were indicative of a basic love of life, and also a love of laughter and people. The majority of classmate remarks described you as a "friend" to all. That barely scratches your surface. We were distant friends in High School (NBHS "65"); you the football jock, me the trumpet in the band. Later, we became classmates at SMTI, kicking butt with Dennis and Conrad in our computerized business classes. A friend agrees to spend his own money for formal attire as part of my wedding party in 1969, and again helps me train for the Mass Police Academy. You joined, and I chose to became a "Fed" and was sent off to Los Angeles. You, and Dave Medeiros, attended my mother's funeral in 1989, and again my Dad's in 2015. True friends give their most precious possession, their time, to those in need. Today, your earthbound journey comes to an end, and a new one begins. I am sure we will see your warm smile and comforting presence as we meet again. Tom Taylor
WE are all very sad to say goodbye to Jose. He was a very special person for all the right reasons that have been expressed already. Wondering if others would join Jan and me in creating a scholarship fund in Jose's name the proceeds going to the High School and the Boys and Girls Club that he loved so much. If you would be willing to make a donation, please email me at bobfeingold57@gmail.com. If there is enough support, I will do the technical stuff through my lawoffice to get it done. If you would like to help with the details, please let me know in your email. Jose's name is already a blessing. A wonderful soul. Bob
Jose was one of the nicest and kindest friend you will ever have. He always had a big smile when he saw you. The tribute to him at the Funeral Home last night was over whelming. Jose deserved no less. My heart goes out to Kathy, his children, his grandchildren, his sister, and anyone who was lucky enough to know him and call him friend. Jose your are loved, missed, and will never be forgotten. Rest in peace until we meet again.
I donated as Jose's family suggested to the Boys & Girls club. They will put the funds to great use & have the existing administration to handle the funds. For us non tech folks like myself, just call the Boys & Girls club and use your card.
great idea Bob, but the administration in the long term would be problematic.

Your idea for a Scholarship Fund, in our classmate, Jose Gonsalves'memory, is wonderful! Thank You!Nancy Wainer
Jose sat behind me in elementary school. What a total sweet potato he was from the start.
