Ron, do you know how long the toobing will take? Or where we put in and get out? (not to be confused with getting in and putting out)
I kinda want to go to the spring-fed pool, too.
I will be at the school tour.

I've got my deputy (Mr. Morga) looking into something for me. The plan is to meet up at Landa Park at 9:30 AM Saturday morning, have some breakfast and head out from there. Looks like the group has decided on toobing the Comal. I'm guessing that will take a couple of hours.

Hey, Mark.

I've only put out the feeler if the opportunity presents. I don't want to interfere with anything. Kenny says there's a back deck at the Freiheit and that might be the best opportunity. One of my favorite past times has become to sit around with friends, having a drink, and listening to others play while visiting. People seem to really get into it when its up close to them and sing along as well. The night gets even funnier after a few drinks. It was an idea to shoot out to ya'll when searching for things to do.

I spoke with the manager at Frieheit and he says you can jam before 7:00. He has to cut it off then because Karaoke starts at 7:30. When I get the girls settled, I will see how many we have attending the tour. Maybe the jammers can plan on showing up at 5:00 at Frieheit. I have requested the presence of Mr. Reimer--he said he is usually there on Fridays.

Damn! Looks like I better bow out for the putt. It doesn't look like I'll finish working in time. Sorry to Michael and Greg.

I will, however, TRY to make it for the jam on Fri as soon as I can, Mark. Hopefully, I'll be done on time that day.

Kristi,
count me in for the high school tour. My daughter will be done with band by that time and I can meet up with the group for the tour. Do you know where we are supposed to meet at. You will not believe this but I just got home from my first band parent meeting and there are about 260ish kids in the cougar band this year and they are anticipating getting more kids once school starts. They are anticipating that the band will grow to be over 300 kids in the next couple of years. Wow The pride of cougar country has come a long way in 20 years.

Band-Geeks rule! Especially saxes. And drum corps. O.K. Lory & Rod, trumpets, too. Except for Joe C. (kidding - you know you're OK in my book, Joe.)

BTW - anybody know what happened to Joe Cunningham?

Are you rrrrrready. That's right people. It's time to realize how old you actually are. You're almost 40. You are about to have your 20 year reunion. So, are you still shouting at the devil, or are you just another brick in the wall. Did you get tired of wicked games looking for the wild thing or does money talk for you. Do you remember when they were smokin in the boys room and just lookin for the girlz, girlz, girlz. It's time to knock the dust off the afterburner, take your Geritol, your gensing, your ginko, and your little blue pill( if you need that, I'm sure several of you do, don't feel inspired to fill in the blank on that one). That's right baby, you come from the genertion that created Michal Jackson, helped elect Billy Clinton, saw Aerosmith and Run DMc do a duet(that was sacroligeous) and had to explain 9-11-01 to the little ones. That's right, you remember when MTV played music videoes, yes you are that old. Get out your spray can paint on some hair, try suck in and tape up everthing that is sagging, and lets go to our 20th high school reunion.

re: Jam Time:

I dunno if I can make it there by 5 on Friday, but I'll do what I can. Otherwise maybe the back porch thing is a better idea. For the record, I'm only playing with suitable application of beer and at least one other performing monkey (I mean musician).

Tubing News,

In absence of better recommendations, I suggest we just go to Texas Tubes
http://www.texastubes.com

Tubes With Bottoms $14.00
Tubes Without Bottoms $11.00
Tubes With Ice Chest $19.00
Additional Trips $5.00

The float from Texas Tubes is a little further upstream along Hinman Island park than most of the other outfitters and I don't believe they charge for parking.

And that's why I made him a deputy. Many many thanks, Mark!

OK, Mike, so how long did that one take you? Quite clever! Way back in the message forum Kitty's sister offered a discount for a group up to 20 people. I will call Kitty this morning to varify pricing.

Lets see, a walk down memory lane. Were you involved in risky buisiness for money money? Do you remember your rebel yell? Did you have all the right moves? Do you remember the bitchin camero you rode in when you had sixteen candles? Do you remember your weird science for my science project? Did you say anything to the girl that was pretty in pink? Were you better off dead? Were you hot for teacher or just reckless and footloose? Time to phone home . Yeah, you remember. The Outfield Play Deep while trying to score a base hit in the parking lot of BlueBonnet Place. Were you on your way to Guitar Town when you turned down Copperhead Rd to have an excellent adventure.

you been drinking Mike?

08/13/08 10:17 AM #205

Pamela Murrow (Stokem)

Mark, wether it be where you suggested or Kitty's, will those of us with our own floaties be charged anything? I like the meet up at the breakfast thing, (btw, is there a price for breakfast? Just tryng to keep count.) then go where ever. We might pick up a few slow to make up there mind, at breakfast, then we can all go to whatever outfitter or drop in spot from there that is decided. I have had a couple say they might go, but we can't plan on the mights and right now my understanding is we are not up to the 20 people discount, especially if some of us bring our own .
I had a Great Aunt (I think she was 88, my uncle is 93 and wrote a book a couple yrs ago, 'Texas Poetry') die last night, so I don't know how that is going to affect my weekend. Ron, I will let you know if we will not make it so you know about counts, but I am hoping it will be friday.

I guess I'm still asleep, "up to 20."

Kristi and Rob, I forgot about the San Fran dinner. Too funny.

Rob, we are going to play a 2man scramble so we don't kill ourselves. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Don't get the blues brother. A cup of black coffee on a blue morning and I'll be good come next monday. Were you a cinderela or a wasted rock ranger? I'm getting tremors thinkin about all this nostalga. I remember the long cool woman in a black dress. She really had me goin, then she helped introduce me to the real world. I'm havin problems, my tractor don't get no traction, but I got better thingds to do. Yeah, the ginko startin to kick in and the grey matter workin. You remember those days. When the only thing that hurt in the morning was your pride and your hangover. No mortgage or credit card debt, your biggest worry was havin enough gas to make it to the party, and you worry about makin it home the next day. To be young again.

Mike you have to much time on your hands dude. I actually took my 14 and 10 yr kids to the iron maiden concert this last go around and they loved it. My brother had some old concert jerseys from 83 and 85 that my kids wore it brought tears to my eyes. Now they want to see judas priest and rush. What have I started. My husband thinks I'm nuts. I can't wait to see you guys.

Thomas--

Given the level of skill that we are SURE to exhibit on the golf course, hurting ourselves is the least of our concerns. Every other player on the course is in danger as well as the wildlife, any homes nearby, and even the shrubbery! I played with Joe Cunningham once and he shanked a tee shot so bad that he hit a utility shed that was 90 degrees from where he aimed, 0 yards down the fairway and about 25 yards to the right of the tee box. Now THAT is getting it done!

Ron - to answer your question who is attending the school tour - I can't. I have my follow up appt. from my surgery at the same time as the tour (way over off Loop 1604 and Stone Oak Parkway)- too far to drive to make it in time. Bummer. I've seen tremendous growth on that campus over the years. Would have loved to see how it changed on the inside. The growth in that area has been phenomenal, with Home Depot, Hotels, Restaurants, all sorts of stuff. My mom was worried sick about the miles I drove from Garden Ridge to school, and that was before all the construction to widen IH-35. I can't imagine being a kid and driving that stretch now...pretty scary!!

Any updates on the breakfast? Where are we meeting specifically? I'll be heading down tomorrow morning, and the place I'm staying at doesn't have Internet. So I'll need to find a Starbuck's or something to check the message board.

Also, what about the school tour? Where do we need to hook up?

That being said, if we don't hear anything back about the breakfast, I say anyone wanting to go toob should meet up at Texas Tubes (thanks again Mark for finding that info for us) at 9:30 AM Saturday morning. That work for everyone?

08/13/08 05:53 PM #215

Ron Gardner

On the flip side, though, Becky, the kids nowadays can drive well over 55 MPH on the highway, so they get there a lot faster than we did! :)

Glad to hear that everything went all right on the surgery. See you Saturday!
