WAYNE MILLER OBITUARY
Wayne W. Miller, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away on May 5, 2023, at the age of 72. He was surrounded by his loving family at his home in Farmington, CT. Wayne was born on October 1, 1950, in New Britain, CT, to Warren and Mary (Zarotney) Miller. He grew up in New Britain with his siblings Maureen, Warren, Kenneth, and Gary, and graduated from Pulaski High School in New Britain in 1968.
After high school, Wayne enlisted in the Air Force and served from 1969-1973. He then worked at the New Britain United States Postal Service for over 45 years. Wayne was a quiet, gentle giant who loved the simple things in life, such as basketball, singing karaoke, playing cards, babies, anything in nature, and furry friends. He had a dry sense of humor and was known for his antics and love of singing.
Wayne is survived by his wife of 43 years, Patricia Duclos-Miller, his sons Matthew J. Miller (wife Una) and Nathan A. Miller (wife Christine), and his grandchildren Kalea, Wesley, Makena, and Alexandria Miller. He also leaves behind his brother and sister-in-law Jerry and Ginger Duclos, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Bristol Home and Hospice Care, in particular Jodi-Lynn and Julie, and the wonderful ALS team of the West Haven Veterans Hospital for their compassionate care. Wayne was also thankful for Johanni, a home health aide from Visiting Angels, as well as a friend and neighbor, Felicity.
There will be no services, and interment will be in the Veteran's Cemetery in Middletown, CT. A family celebration of Wayne's life will be held in June, where they will recall the best days of his life. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the ALS Association CT Chapter, 4 Oxford Road, E4, Milford, CT 06460 (www.alsact.org). Wayne will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
