Leland M Ryder, age 75, of Kathleen, Ga, passed away peacefully on January 8, 2025. He was born on April 19, 1949, to Leland and Margaret (Minatzigian) Ryder.


After graduating from high school, Leland attended Northwestern Connecticut Community College in Winsted, CT, where he earned his associate's degree. He later went on to build a successful career, owning and operating his own business for over 30 years.


Leland married the love of his life, Sandra, on April 12, 1981. Together, they built a life full of love and cherished memories. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. Leland's love for his family was unwavering, and he took great pride in caring for and protecting them.


He had a wide range of interests that brought him joy. Leland was an avid golfer and a lifelong fan of the New York Yankees. He enjoyed attending University of Connecticut basketball games, often with his brother Keith and family by his side. One of his favorite pastimes was playing cards with his family, a tradition that brought him great happiness. He was also a lover of animals, especially his dogs, who brought him comfort and companionship.


Leland was fiercely loyal to his loved ones, always making their well-being his top priority. His presence will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Leland and Margaret Ryder, and his stepson, Keith Scarborough.  Leland is survived by his beloved wife, Sandra; his children, Katherine Berky (Mike), Michelle Ryder (Robert Brown), and stepson Jeff Scarborough (Beverly); his grandchildren, Matthew Berky, Kristopher Berky, Arrow Brown-Ryder, Max Brown-Ryder, as well as his wife's grandchildren, Kirstie Tarleton (Brandon), Cody Scarborough (Kyndall), Lexie Finley (Ryan), and Layne Fulghum; and his great-grandchildren, Emma K, Jett, Cal, Madi, and Ford; brother, Keith Ryder (Maria Scussel).


Leland's legacy of love, loyalty, and devotion will live on in the hearts of his family and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Leland's birthday April 19, 2025 for family and friends. Contact family for location and time.
