My heart goes out to her family and friends. She was a special soul who shared her light with so many others. She will be truly missed.

As we in the NCHS Class of 1966 get ready to have our 55th reunion next year, we have Suzi to thank. She was the driving force ( and I do mean "force") behind our 20th reunion. It was the first one we managed to have, and then we went 30 years without another. She was always enthusiastic, funny, and energetic, she made everyday life a treat for those who knew and loved her. A fabulous and poised dancer, she was a fun person to have at our rehearsals, and one also to emulate while on stage. Smart and kind, generous with her time and love.We will miss her radiant smile, and sparkling eyes. I wish her sisters and other family, peace and my heartfelt condolences for their ( and our) loss.

I have to echo what many have already written and many more have thought. Suzi was always up for a fun adventure. It is with fond memories that I remember all my times with Suzi. She was loyal and full of love, laughter and life. I’m sure she is at peace.

Suzy could light you up with her smile, tire you out with her energy, and could laugh louder than I. Upbeat. Never saw her sad or truly angry. Just a great person to be around. I hope to run into her again.

I am so sad to hear of Suzi’s death. When we were at NCHS, we who just had to hop across Braeburn Drive to hang out with each other, which we did constantly. What a dear friend she was who could brighten up my day with her smile, humor and overall zest for life. We were partners in many escapades that I will not divulge. Suzi made my life fuller. Rest In Peace .

A Suzi Rabe appreciation I have no memory of how we met. She sang and danced and had an extrovert’s personality. She lived in the realm of a different life. During the fall of our sophomore year, Edward and Ethel Rabe, Susann’s parents, had planned a Christmas party, and part of the preparation was to cleanup and festively decorate a wooden sleigh in their front yard. Either her dad asked her to do it, or find a classmate who wanted an odd job. Suzi asked me if I was interested. I had steady after school/weekend jack-of-all-trades work at the Melba Inn, and felt competent enough to not hurt myself or cause irreparable damage. What I value about the incident is her thoughtfulness and propriety of choosing. No drama. No burden. Just a skill, even a gift which I have practiced over a lifetime, and she was my inspiration.

Suzi was a very good friend in our school days- always with a smile and a keen sense of humor. She was also quite unique and had an unusual talent. She was an accomplished archer. I never knew anyone who had that type of skill. Suzi shared her target practice with me one day and I was amazed at the discipline and sheer strength required to simply draw back on the bow. Aside from that, she was just a lovely, joyful person. My sympathies to her family and loved ones.

I like everyone else remember Suzi’s glorious smile. When I look back to the last time I spent with Suzi ( 20th reunion committee) it was not only that smile but it was her kindness and inclusion of everyone in our class. That drove her to hunt down classmates with a vengeance. She wanted all to have the chance to participate. Suzi was kind ,thoughtful and fun to be with. I will remember her always.

Although it has been many years since I last saw Susann, I have this indelible impression of the kindness and warmth she bestowed upon her classmates, including myself. I am saddened by her loss, but uplifted by the contribution she made to us at New Canaan High School. She will be missed
