Ella Kay “Katie” Daugherty Eggleston was born in Grundy, Virginia on March 3, 1950, to Mary & Everett Daugherty. In 1954 her family moved to Ohio where they lived in New Carlisle most of the time. In 1967 she met Jeff Eggleston. She graduated in 1968 from Tecumseh High School.
