I retired from the County of Albemarle, Charlottesville, VA, on September 30, 2016, where I had worked since 1987 as a Senior Programmer Analyst in the Information Technology department, and was one of those helpful folks who CREATED the very real Y2K problem. I formally became the County's Webmaster in 1999, but had to delay that a bit to continue helping FIX the Y2K program for a while longer :) Since the world did not implode, we did a great job :)

We moved to Charlotte, NC three days after I retired! We lived barely inside the city limits on the far north side for the first three years, but built another house and moved to the next town up, Huntersville, in March 2020, about 2 weeks before the pandemic struck. Hopefully that's it. Moves and pandemic...

Our daughter Leslie was married in 2019 in NYC, where she had lived for about 5 or 6 years earlier in her career. AWESOME wedding! She'd moved to Nashville about 4 years ago where she met Patric, the love of her life, and we welcomed our first grandchild on March 31, 2020, Isla Prentice Johnson, the most beautiful granddaughter ever :)

Leon and I are trying to grow old as gracefully as we can, and so far so good. Life is MUCH better here in North Carolina, significantly warmer and cheaper than Charlottesville :)

Update: Sadly, Leon passed away suddenly in 2022 from a previously unknown heart issue. Please be sure to get your annual medical checkup! None of us are immune.

In case anyone doesn't remember, I was the new girl whose first day at Tecumseh, my *5th* high school, was the day after Kennedy's funeral... I was also an Air Force brat. Dad was stationed at Wright-Patt.
