Classmates' Loss
It has come to my attention that one of our classmates and childhood friend of mine, Peter Susi has suffered a great loss with the death of his daughter. Please take a minute to read the following obituary. If anyone knows Peter's e-mail or contact information, please forward it to me. Thank you.
Amanda Marie Susi
Age 20, departed this life to walk with the angels and be with the Lord on September 2, 2008. She was born on July 19, 1988.
Amanda graduated from William Penn High School in 2007. She enjoyed going to the mall, country music, and singing.
She was preceded in death by her grand-mother, Katherine P. Greene. She is survived by her daughter, Madison Katherine Susi; father, Peter A. Susi, Jr. and his companion Amy Kennedy; mother, Kimberly M. Goodrich and husband Dave of Dover; brother, Peter A. Susi, III; stepsister, Alisha Paulson and her son Hayden; stepbrother, Charles (CJ) Paulson; half brothers, William (Billy) Devonshire and Austin Devonshire; grandparents, Peter and Phyllis Susi, and Raymond Greene; great-grandfather, Isaac Covey of Galena, MD; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Amanda loved life and was a loving and devoted mother to Maddie.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at Holy Spirit Church, 12 Winder Rd., New Castle on Saturday, September 6 at 10:30 am Friends may call at the church from 9:30-10:30 am Saturday morning. Interment in Gracelawn Memorial Park, New Castle.

JANICE ELLIOTT
Mrs. Janice L. Elliott, age 59, of Lewes, DE, formerly of New Castle, DE, died on Wednesday, November 12, 2008, at her home surrounded by her beloved family.
Mrs. Elliott was born in Delmar, MD on October 24, 1949. A gifted homemaker throughout her life, she delighted in cooking and baking for her family. She also greatly enjoyed gardening around her home and working on many types of decorative arts and crafts projects. Mrs. Elliott was a devout Christian and a longtime member of All Saints Episcopal Church in Delmar, DE. A devoted mother, she was active in supporting her children's education, as well as their Little League and high school sports activities. More recently, her greatest joy came from spending time with her precious grandchildren.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 39 years, Jerry A. Elliott; son, Jeff Elliott and wife, Sheila, of Bear, DE; daughter, Jamie Delaney and husband, Donovan, of Middletown, DE; her mother, Helen Hovatter Tingle of Delmar, DE; grandchildren, Jenna, Alec, and Donovan, Jr.; brothers, Greg Tingle and wife, Carol, Bruce Tingle, and Dean Tingle, all of Delmar, DE; and sister, Beatrice Polansky and husband, Barry, of Annapolis, MD. She was preceded in death by her father, Paul Tingle, Sr.; twin sons, Justin and Jason; son, Jordan; twin grandsons, Georgie and Justin Delaney; and brother, Paul Tingle, Jr.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Tuesday, November 18, 2008, at the Spicer-Mullikin Funeral Home, 1000 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE, where visitation will begin at 12 noon. Interment will be in Gracelawn Memorial Park, 2220 N. DuPont Parkway, New Castle, DE.

The following is about Karin Hutchinson's mother. Please take a moment to read it. Karin, our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.
Helen Marie (Baker) Hutchinson
Lifelong resident of New Castle, DE, was called home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 28, 2008, at the age of 75.
Helen, born and lived as a small child in Wilmington, DE, is the daughter of the late Benjamin Carlton Baker, Sr. and was currently residing with her daughter Karin (Hutchinson) DiGiovanni in Bear, DE. She had varied careers throughout her lifetime, and one of her first was as a cook for the "Copper Kettle" restaurant. Helen however will mostly be remembered as an employee for the A&P grocery store chain where she worked for 23 years. Helen retired from the State of Delaware as head cook for Howard Vocational Technical School at the age of 67. In her younger years Helen enjoyed summers at Rehoboth Beach with her family, dancing, entertaining and playing pinochle. Helen was an outstanding cook and she was always asked to make her "special" recipes for family gatherings. Most recently Helen enjoyed time spent with her children and grandchildren, cooking, swimming and reading mystery novels. Helen will always be remembered for her funny wit, hilarious stories and the most infectious laugh ever heard. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who had the opportunity to have their lives touched by this outstanding, loving woman.
Helen's beloved husband David R. Hutchinson, Sr. passed away in 1979. She leaves behind to cherish her memory her children whom she was devoted to and who were devoted to her, Karin (Hutchinson) DiGiovanni of Bear, DE and David R. Hutchinson, Jr. and his fiancée Kristina of Delaware City, DE; her 5 loving grandchildren, Erika Hutchinson, Lindsay Hutchinson, David R. Hutchinson III, Ryan Hutchinson and Donald DiGiovanni III, with whom she lived and helped to raise; sister, Elizabeth (Colegrove) Carey and brother, William C. Baker. Helen will also be missed by various nephews, nieces, grand-nieces and nephews, and her lifelong best friend Katherine Krakowski. Helen was especially blessed by having neighbors who were always willing to lend a hand and her family would like to say "Thank You". Helen was predeceased by her father; brothers, Benjamin Baker, Jr., Jack Baker and her sister Evelyn Baker-Evans.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Helen's family on Saturday, December 6, from 11 am to 12:30 pm at Gebhart Funeral Home of New Castle, 531 Delaware Street, New Castle, DE, (302)328-2312 and to attend her funeral service at 12:30 pm. Interment will follow in Glebe Cemetery, New Castle, DE.
