Carol Diane Garner Flora

I received my B.S. degree in Music Education from Ball State University (where I met my husband, Eric). My first job was at Northeastern Schools (Shenandoah H. S. ). Both of my boys were born at Ball Memorial Hospital. In 1976 we moved to Greenville, Ohio, where we still live. I taught Vocal Music for 33 years. I retired in 2005 from Tri-Village Local Schools. Eric and I have been married for 38 years this year.

Both of my boys are involved in music. James is an opera singer with the Pittsburgh Opera Company. He lives there with his wife, Olga Perez Flora. Matthew is a music educator in Arizona. He lives in Chandler, Az.

My years at Chrysler H.S. were fun and valuable. I especially enjoyed participating in the musical program, which included musicals, an opera and groups such as Madrigals, Swing Choir and Choir. My teachers for these groups were Mr. Bogue and Miss Tronchuk.

I also participated in Speech team and was a part of the Radio crew with Miss Rucker as our advisor. A fond memory is of competing in a state speech competition when the basketball team was playing in the state tournament.
