Wow!!! How about only the good stuff! I completed my master's degree in 1989 while Jennifer was in college, but before Brad began--I didn't know how all 3 of us could survive college at the same time! Then in June of 1990 I married Steve--another blessing in my life and in my children's and grandchildren's lives. Now I have many more additions to our family. Lisa (Steve's oldest daughter) and Jimmy Fisher plus Cody another grandson who is 12 and Samantha who is 4, Kim and Adam Vernau plus Alexis who is 15, Andy who is 18, and Garrett who is 15. Also included in these grandchildren is Shane Shriner who is now 20--Wes's son from a previous marriage, as are Andy and Garrett from a previous marriage. Anyway we are a BLENDED FAMILY and you know what? It works!!! God has truly blessed our family...
Since I retired in 2000, I've been practicing what to do with my time. I'm pretty sure that one never gets it really right--it changes all the time. I know one thing for sure--I love my flexibility to change what I want to change when I want to. I know I love being Nana and spending time with my grandchildren--I wouldn't give that up for anything. I also love volunteering. There is such reward in giving with no expectation of anything in return--except how it changes your heart. Since I retired I have been involved in Hospice, Hospitality at the Firehouse (Newark Nazarene Church),decorating at many locations, and running the Food Pantry at our church. I love all of these and I look forward to where God may place me next--it's all about changes!!!
Oh!!! I still love to exercise--I love to be outside as much as possible--unfortunately with lots of sunscreen--so sad...or the Wii-- it's great too!!! I need to do more weights, but they are so boring...
Steve and I love to travel, and we plan to do more and more. Our favorite trips are to Sarasota to see Barbie and to California to see Brian and Marti and of course---we love Sedona and anything out west we can fit in...
