NEWARK: A service celebrating the life of Gary Lee Frazier, age 64, of Newark, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, July 27, at the Newark Chapel of Henderson-Van Atta-Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service with Pastor Daryl Beckett officiating. Burial will take place in Hanover Cemetery.

Gary passed through heaven's gates in the wee hours of the morning on Monday, July 23, 2012 at The Ohio State University Medical Center from a brain aneurism. Gary was surrounded by his family during his last hours and his passing was very peaceful. He gave the gifts of life and hope to others as an organ and tissue donor through Lifeline of Ohio.

Gary was born December 12, 1947 in Newark, Ohio to the late Roy A. and Freda C. (Bonham) Frazier. He was a 1966 graduate of Newark High School and had received an Associate's Degree from MATC in Zanesville. He retired from the City of Newark where he had worked at the Wastewater Treatment Plant for over eighteen years. He was also formerly employed by Continental Can and Duplex Products.

Gary was a member of The Lighthouse Church in Utica. An avid Bass fisherman and car enthusiast, with many trophies to show for both, Gary was a member of the Cranberry Marsh Bass Club for many years and enjoyed going to the "Liar's Club" at Bob's Bait Store. Gary was especially proud of his 1956 DeSoto and enjoyed showing it at car shows, most recently this past Saturday where he placed in the Top 30. Gary also enjoyed hunting, traveling and was one of the few men who actually liked to shop. He had a great sense of humor and never met a stranger.

He will be greatly missed by his wife of 37 years, Barbara J. "Sunshine" (Bobo) Frazier, whom he married April 26, 1975; daughters, Lora S. (Frazier) Wyeth of Newark and Shawna L. Frazier of Martinsburg; grandchildren, Koty Frazier, Allison Wyeth, Skylin Walker, Lauren Wyeth, Andrea Perrine, Damien LoVallo and Sarena Perrine; brothers and sister, Roy C. "Ax" (Charla) Frazier, John H. (Karen) Frazier, Nancy L. Frazier and Mark A. (Roxanne) Frazier, all of Newark; brothers-in-law, Ricky L. (Brenda) Bobo of Newark and Terry L. Bobo of Gahanna; and many nieces and nephews. He will also be missed by his faithful companion, his dog, Bobbi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Linda Sue Frazier and Sandra K. Glover; sister-in-law, Karla A. McIntyre; special aunt, Kate Phillips; and two special dogs, Billi and Fancy.

Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, July 26, at the funeral home, 59 North Fifth Street, Newark.
