Karen Kay BryanA graveside service for Karen Kay (Fry) Bryan, age 74, of Heath, will be held on Friday, August 6 at 10 a.m. at Cedar Hill Cemetery with Pastor Mark Shoemaker, officiating.

Karen passed away on August 3, 2021 at her residence with her loving family by her side. She was born on May 10, 1947 in Newark to the late Roger H. and Choral Jean (Donavan) Fry.

Karen was a 1965 graduate of Newark High School. She later met her husband, Kenneth H. Bryan, and married him on September 3, 1965 in Alstead, New Hampshire. They started their family, raising two sons who loved to play sports. Together, Ken and Karen balanced attending sporting events for each of them. Karen cared for others as she did for her family. She even was the first woman on the Mary Ann Township Fire Department to make a squad run. She enjoyed listening to country music, especially artists, Patsy Cline, Mickey Gilley, and Willie Nelson.

She retired from Harlow's True Value Hardware Store and retired again after 21 years of service from Walmart in Heath. She loved to travel and most dearly loved her family.

She was a member of the Heisey Collectors of America, and the member of Madison Township Fire Department Auxiliary, Newark Eagles FOE #387, Eastern Star #597 and White Shrine Rosa Chapter 8.

Karen is survived by her husband, Kenneth Bryan; two sons, Steven (Cindy) Bryan and Scott (Leea) Bryan; four grandchildren, Tyler (Holly Young ) Bryan, Nathan (Ashley) Bryan, Melanie Kay Bryan and Lane Thomas Bryan; two step-grandsons, Cannon Stewart and Aiden Bennett; as well as three great-grandchildren, Kamdin, Kohen and Charlotte.

In addition to her parents, Karen is preceded in death by her sister, Beverly Price.
