Michael Freeman Scott Sr., 79, of Frazeysburg, died Friday, January 16, 2026 at Grant Medical Center. He was born April 7, 1946 in Charleston, WV to the late Earnest Freeman and Jessie Jewell (Dunaway) Scott.

Mike was a proud member of Local Union #189 for 60 years. He cherished farm life and took great pride in working with his tractors. An avid golfer, he enjoyed playing in the Local 189 Retirees Golf League as well as golf outings with his family and special golf buddy, Doug. Above all, Mike treasured his grandchildren, finding great joy in watching them play sports and spending time with them.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bonnie; children, Dee (Dave) Rhodeback and Mike (Megan) Scott Jr.; grandchildren, Karalyn, Garrett, Erich, Anna and Mason; and several nieces and nephews including special nephew, Walter Lee Kincaid.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by siblings, Charles Ed, Eula, Kenny, Dave, Betty, Nancy, Una, Janet, Martha Jane, Raymond, Melvin, Marvin and Richard.

Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Mike to a charity of donor’s choice.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, January 21, 2026 from 4-7 pm at the Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N. 21st St., Newark where the funeral service will follow at 7:00 pm.
