A Memorial Service for Rodney Nealon Scott, 68 of Newark will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 26, 2015 at the Brushy Fork United Methodist Church, 15314 Brushy Fork Rd, SE, Newark with Pastor Dean Cole and Pastor Dave Pennington officiating.
Rodney died Friday, March 20, 2015 at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born December 21, 1946 in Newark to the late Walter W. and Shirley P. (Rector) Scott. Rodney was a 1965 graduate of Newark High School and had been a Detective with the Newark Police Department. He also worked for COTC in Security and had been a Truck Driver. He was a member of the Brushy Fork United Methodist Church, the Fraternal Order of Police, and Newark Masonic Lodge #97, F & A.M. Rodney loved working with wood. He built hobby horses, cradles, rocking chairs, benches and bird houses. He also enjoyed deer hunting.
Survivors include his loving wife of nearly 50 years, Carole G. (Wood) Scott, who he married August 28, 1965; a daughter, Michelle (Aaron) Fink; a son, Rodney N. (Kathy) Scott, II.; grandchildren, Tyler Scott, Christopher Scott and Cooper Fink; and a great grandson, Cayden Scott, all of Newark; a brother; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and friends.
Friends and family may call one hour prior to the service Thursday at the Church.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Brushy Fork United Methodist Church.
