Jeffrey Wayne Walker, age 76, of Newark, passed away Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Licking Memorial Hospital. He was born in Newark on April 11, 1947, to the late Ralph Wayne and Frances Lucille (Gilcrest) Walker.

     Jeffrey was known as a prankster with a good sense of humor. He was committed to community service and his church. He served as a Boy Scout and Cub Scout leader, Red Cross volunteer, a member of several local Lions Clubs,a member of the Courthouse Lighting Committee, a Sunday School Teacher and a Bible Study Leader.   

     He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol (O’Brien) Walker; children, Susan (Walker) Underwood, and Scott (Todd Puhl) Walker; grandchildren, Zach, Jacob, and Rain Underwood; great-grandchild, Kaizak Underwood.  

     In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his stepmother, Zelda (Bartlett) Walker.

     Visitation will be held from 1-3pm and 5- 7pm Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Brucker and Kishler Funeral Home, 985 N 21st. St, Newark, Ohio 43055. A 1pm funeral service will take place Thursday, February 1, 2024, at First United Methodist Church, 88 N 5th. St. Newark, Ohio. Friends and family may call from 12-1pm, one hour prior to the service, Pastors Barb Salyer and Peter Borhauer officiating.
