David L. Wright Obituary

David Lynne Wright, age 79, passed away on July 24, 2026. He was born on May 30, 1947 to the late Swazy and Anna (Thompson) Wright in Newark, Ohio.

A Military Honor Service will take place at 7 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson - Van Atta - Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service, 59 N. Fifth Street, Newark. Calling hours will be from 6 p.m. until time of service at 7 p.m. at the Newark Chapel of Henderson - Van Atta - Stickle Funeral & Cremation Service.

Dave was a graduate of Newark High School Class of 1965. He started work at St. Regis (PCA) in June 1965. Dave proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1966-1969 during the Vietnam Era. During his employment at St. Regis (PCA), he held many positions while in the union work force. In 1979, he became a supervisor, in ’82 shift supervisor, and ’88 plant manager. In 1991, he transferred to the PCA plant in Vincennes, Indiana. In 1994, Dave moved to the Clearwater, Florida area as plant manager at Micon Packing. He retired from the paper industry in 1997. In August 1997, he worked at several golf courses as a certified spray technician. In 1998, Dave went to work for Agratex as a certified aquatic spray tech unit April 2012 when he retired. He and his wife, Patricia moved back to Newark in September 2012 after spending 19 years in Florida.

Dave is survived by his half-brother, John (Theresa) Hughes; a half-sister, Beth (Clint) Colvin; a sister, Linda (Bruce) Varner; best friend, Nancy Marmie; and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Wright; parents, Swazy and Anna Wright; brothers, Wayne and Allen Wright; and sisters and brothers-in-law, Donna and Ed Boring and Beverly “Bev” and Jeff Zartman.
